I don’t think he’s going to prison. Rich and powerful people tend not to end up there.

That said, if the FBI is coming to your house at the crack of dawn, it’s probably for a reason. I do think it’s more likely than not that Trump gets indicted.

if he doesn't get a pardon, yes. without a doubt. and his company is going to be hit hard too.

your turn, do you think he deserves to go to prison if he had scif documents in his possession and refused to return them?

Interesting. Thought they would run out the clock. If I am reading this correctly, I think the House in the 117th Congress is in session through December 15. But I don't think the Ways and Means Committee has any scheduled activity. That committee will likely be governed by internal rules that may limit their ability to "do anything" with the returns. Presumably they have though this through to avoid the House Leadership of the 118th Congress from burying this. But they should not simply release the returns. Worth watching.

I note that DOJ is formally requesting the materials of the 1/6 Committee, which will likely get around the debate over the Report only emphasizing Trump. But any criminal referral based on the returns would not be within the 1/6 committee jurisdiction. Interesting

I was previously more doubtful that he would even spend time in a courtroom. Now I think he might be tried for (take your pick) but don’t think he ends up in jail for the reasons GatorRade mentioned.

Reality Winner - the lady who took 1 classified document spent 4 years in jail for her crime. But then she’s just a run-of-the-mill citizen so laws still apply to her.

I don't think Trump will go to jail, although if it were up to me, he would swing from a Gallo's hook.

it's literally unimaginable to read about this man. The kind of person you pray you will never encounter in your personal life.

It's all about HIM with the media, except it's always someone ELSE to blame, it's always POOR ME, WITCH HUNT, yada yada yada.

The singularily most destructive and reprehensible person to infect the American Political system since McCarthy and he is probably worse.

No, the Don will die from a thousand small cuts, a thousand law suits, a thousand depositions that prove what a lying con man he is and always will be.

The Don stabs everyone, friends, family, business associates and of course the political hacks. His empire is on the fade BIG TIME, no way this clown gets re-elected. He's finished.

I don't care about Trump's troubles. I care about America's Troubles, which, thanks to the wisdom and leadership of today's GOP, will continue unabated for a couple more years.
McCarthy Warns Jan. 6 Committee Republicans Will Investigate Its Work

Fortunately, based upon the mood of the country as evidenced in part by the 2022 Midterms, there will be a thorough housecleaning in 2024, and the grand American ship of state can disembark the MAGA/McCarthy wing into the water off the right side of the boat and get back into the middle of the channel.

Most people 40 years old could not deal with the amount of stress and the cumulative impact of these lawsuits, investigations, and negative press. How he is doing it at 80 years old is beyond me. Even if he does avoid prison (he won't avoid indictment and almost certainly won't avoid conviction), the wear and tear on him and his family will be so severe that he will wish that he had stayed out of politics altogether. The only thing that Trump accomplished was reconfirming how racist some people are in this country.

We are a country of immigrants, and yet this man rode the wave of immigration to establish his base. He conned the majority of his supporters, even the few educated ones, that Mexico was going to pay for the wall. Some clowns still believe they will, and some will dazzle you with contorted explanations novel to economic theory as to how Mexico actually did pay for the wall.

He played to the base element of those advocating "replacement theory" ideas and painted cultural progressivism as the scourage of communism and anti-American values. He is in essence a loser whose spark went out almost as quickly as it was lit, and the tragic thing for the republican party is that they are foundering with him. If the goal was a "one-party rule", he was going to accomplish it by establishing the republican party as the sole determiner of American Public Policy, or by destroying it and establishing the Democratic party by default.

He will not allow DeSantis to assume the mantle without a fight, and the fight will undoubtedly cost both of them a legitimate chance at the presidency in 2024. The best that DeSantis can hope for is that some deal is struck where Trump agrees as part of his sentencing conditions, to not seek public office on ANY level of United States, State, or local government. This kind of disposition has to be achieved before next Summer, or the war between DeSantis and Trump will begin and scorch earth the remaining viability of the republican party as we know it.

For Pryor to do that, the word is obviously out but the establishment has to take down Trump. Pryor was all but rehearsing for the next Supreme Court opening in some of his prior opinions. He has zero legal principles. This just must be a rehearsal under the updated circumstances.

You know you're an incompetent right-wing hack when even Bill Pryor says you've gone too far. Cannon is a total joke. That's true of too many of these Trump appointees.
