“Canada didn’t impose lockdowns” would likely come as news to Canadians ...

Of course correlation only goes one way. My favorite Covid death: Miami roofer struck by lightening, throw to ground, massive internal injuries, several broken bones, severed spine, brain dead ... died of Covid ...

The "lockdowns" in Canada included forced closures of certain businesses and travel restrictions. They were nothing like the lockdowns in China in which people who tested positive for the virus are being involuntarily confined sometimes in their own residences and very often in special facilities. Under some of the lockdowns in China all of the residents of specified areas in which infections were detected were confined to their residences whether or not they actually tested positive.

The glib glossing over the effects of “closure of certain businesses.” This niggling inconvenience cost me my dream job in March 2020.

First, whether or not businesses should be closed was based on cost benefit analysis at the time, the conclusion being the benefits outweighed the cost and even assuming that calculus was incorrect, closing businesses is still nowhere close to involuntary confinement.

I was hoping for benefits. But all I bore were the costs. That I was among multitudes who were so ‘inconvenienced’ shouldn’t have surprised anyone after panic was established as health policy.

Never forget that highly regarded epidemiologists were viciously attacked and banned or at least hounded on social media.

God forbid we ever have another pandemic. I’m not sure what lessons we have learned. Some of the narratives floating around are that pretty much all preventative measures are bad and failed and we should let fReeDumB rAiN and don’t do anything differently.

Ignorance is reading, and linking WNB (WND is an American far-right fake news website. It is known for promoting falsehoods and conspiracy theories, including the false claim that former President Barack Obama was not born in the United States. The site was founded in May 1997 by Joseph Farah, who is its current editor-in-chief and CEO.) As opposed to : The overall risk of myocarditis – inflammation of the heart muscle – is substantially higher immediately after being infected with COVID-19 than it is in the weeks following vaccination for the coronavirus, a large new study in England shows. The detailed analysis of nearly 43 million people was published Monday in the American Heart Association journal. There are none so blind as those who choose not to see. Be better, SMH

It appears your linked study is similar to prior conclusions, the risk of myocarditis is lower after vaccine compared to Covid infection, except for younger men, where vaccine myocarditis is slightly higher. Whatever the case the incidence of myocarditis after vaccine is very low, something like 1 in 100,000.

If vaccines have killed one person that’s one more person than a mythical pathogenic virus has killed.

That’s how darkly silly 2020ff has been.

Only in this thread can I basically factually restate the results of a study, and get a disagree bacon.

At least now we know why you've shrouded this board with covid-denying nonsense. Cool - but yeah, sorry you missed out on the dream job.
