Cool cool. I'm in the industry as well, doesn't come up often on these boards so I was curious. Admin at an Fx company is solid, stable work, especially if she can carve out time early or late in the day and on weekends to work on her writing. As far as writing goes, WAY more jobs in television, but less interesting jobs. Tisch 2019 so she's probably early to mid 20s, best advice I can give is to stick with it. I moved out to LA when I was 23 and had a very similar job to start out with. It can feel like a crapshoot but strong writers damn near always break through. Eventually
Thanks so much. That is encouraging. She has a good sense of that at the logical level but she just does not like doing that. Glad to hear things are working out for you. It's a tough industry. She would be open to TV. She just has a preference for features. Right now she just wants to get writing
I missed that. And I usually am put off by that. Took me a while to realize you have to concentrate on sung lyrics. Looks like the Telegu version is currently owned by Zee5. Not on Netflix
Yes, the movie is originally in Telugu and has been dubbed into Hindi and Tamil versions. The latter two versions will seem out of sync wrt to the dialogues. However, I believe only the Hindi version is available on Netflix. If you want other over the top Indian action movies that are pure fun, then try Pushpa (Telugu, Amazon Prime), KGF Parts 1&2 (Kannada, Prime), Vikram (Tamil, although this contains references to some older movies, not yet on streaming)
My most awaited Indian movie Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 (PS-1) is releasing on Sep 30. Made by one of India’s most acclaimed directors Mani Ratnam, the movie is based on a book by the same name written about 70 years ago that has cult status (think Lord of the Rings meets Game of Thrones). The semi-fictional story is about the rise of the Tamil Chola empire which was one of the biggest empires encompassing Southern India all the way to Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia (they built the temples at Bali and Angkor Wat) in the 9 to 11th centuries AD. If you liked Baahubali and RRR, you will like this.
Youtube Prabhudeva videos for some really bad arse Bollywood dancing. His dances from the mid-90s were out of this world and he is still spectacular.
