Never too late for anyone, but there comes a point where if you just keep making similar character mistakes repeatedly, it appears as though you're not actually remorseful.

 

The appeal to Kiffin is simple, really good offensive mind and he has a swagger and confidence to him that really become part of the identity of his teams.

The red flags with Kiffin are also simple.

A good metaphor for Kiffin is the beautiful, young, and energetic wife who is plenty of fun at first, but then she cheats on you, says it's your fault, and takes all your money.

 

Auburn are blowing up. More than half hate the hire, said their money is going to the buyout in 2 years because of something he will end up doing.

He did beat Bama twice, but so did Malzahn. In fact, Malzahn beat Saban more than any other coach. The 2 years Ole Miss beat Bama were years they were winning too. In 2014, they beat Bama 23-17 and at one point was 7-0 before Ole Miss crumbled late in the season, finishing 9-4. Then in 2015 they beat Bama again and finished 10-3 losing to us 38-10, Memphis, and to Arkansas 30-0 (a 7-6 team).

What fans are up in arms about is they fired Harsin for less. Now they get a guy that is going to be the joke of every SEC Shorts pun. The microscope is going to be so focused on him, he won't be able to do anything without Twitter knowing about it. Very underwhelming hire. They had to shut down the Facebook page because there were so many angry fans commenting.

Oh Freeze also finished with a .549 winning percentage at Ole Miss and it gets worse after you factor in the games they had to vacate because of what Freeze did that wasn't calling hookers on his phone. But hey, they did hire another controversial coach, giving him a 2nd chance at redemption so maybe they will give Freeze a 2nd chance. Maybe after this works and Auburn has won several CFP titles, they can change their school to Redemption U.

At least Auburn isn't being duplicitous and is just in-everyone's-face doing what most other schools have for years: win at any cost.

Most of the outrage is from folks who want to keep up the façade.

Freeze is disloyal to the core . . . or, rather only loyal to Freeze it seems. Stabs Liberty in the back the first good chance he gets after giving him a second chance and then a generous extension.

He and the backroom boys running Aubrin's football program are made for each other. The implosion could be epic! A thorn in Saban's backside until then.

We'll see Freeze and Aubrin in 2024 at their place.

Not at all. They could care less about playing by the rules. Which is why I called Freeze to Auburn several weeks ago. He beat the gumps twice while at Ole Miss; that's all they care about.

Another coach skipping out of his contract for greener pastures, zero loyalty in the college game. And folks wonder where players get it from.

 

Did Freeze and Liberty do each other a favor? Just thinking out loud, maybe Liberty knew he was going to leave anyway, by extending his contract and increasing his pay they increased his buyout (payday for Liberty) and increase Freeze’s salary negotiation start point (payday for Freeze)?

Inherited a team on probation and won 10 gms in yr 2. Downhill after that.

Won 10 gms in year 2 at ole miss also who has far less resources. Won 10 2 out of 3 years at FAU.

Fisher has yet to win 10 in 5 yrs at a$m and sark just won 8 in year 2 at UT and has never won 10 in his career. Kiffin sure seems like an upgrade over both to me, but I'm not writing the checks.
