It does answer your question because your recollection/simplification suggests you don't watch the NBA.

So yeah, the NBA prioritizes athleticism and shooting -- the guys that do that at elite levels are the superstars and are usually the ones you see in the highlights. But they still very much value quality players that can do a lot of the other things, like AN, who if is put on the right team should have a solid career.

Okay. If you say so. I did not know we had elitist folks who watch the NBA in earnest who post on NBN. I won't bother you anymore. BTW, I did watch it but I got bored with the product as it is all about hype (mainly the celebrity players who get celebrity calls) and not about basketball. The hype is mainly about selling a bunch of crap. And, while it isn't a fact per se, what I also see/saw was playoff series that somehow got to 7 games, as the team that was down somehow "found the magic" to get back. The refs involved? Perish the thought!

The NBA is all about making a LOT of money. Tell me, if you want to spend the time talking to a mouth-breather, how AN's skills make their "dreams" work?

I love AN’s game and have since high school. However, he did not have a good sophomore year at UF. That team with AN, Blackshear, Keyontae, Mann, Scottie Lewis and others had a poor year with a great set of players. I openly wanted AN to transfer for his own benefit.

That team is what is tempering my expectations for this year. On paper they were at least a sweet sixteen team. On paper, right now, we are a sweet sixteen team. But if we play together, and play to our strengths, remains to be seen.

AN was a DNP in tonight's opener. The Fighting Beals won in Pacerville.

AN is 3rd-string right now. He will be doing a lot of sitting initially, I suspect.

As I originally posted, if he can sit at the end of the bench on an NBA team, that is a REALLY good thing. He is making NBA money, and not G-league money.

I’m on board with you. He gets $6 million guaranteed and should eventually get playing time. On the other side of the coin, my boy, Chris Chiozza, got cut by the Nets a few days ago and likely will end up in the G League. Discrimination against little guys who play team basketball.

AN played the most minutes (30) of any player for the Pacers tonight in a close loss to San Antonio. He scored 14 points and had 3 assists and no turnovers. He also had a +/- of +14, which was the highest on the team.

That is super. I need to see how the starting PG did. Thanks for sharing and please share whenever you have a chance.

Haliburton is the starting PG, safe to say he won't take his spot, but they can definitely co exist.

The 3 point guards for the Pacers played 74 minutes on Friday, so they are playing point guards together. Last night, the Pacers beat the Pistons. AN played 9 minutes, scored 8 points, had 3 assists and 1 turnover. His +/- was a +8, which was the 3rd highest on the team.

This is an obviously simplistic and incomplete take, but this is about as damning as there is on White's coaching acumen. AR STARTING a game this early in his rookie season, and winning it, means he was never coached well at UF. I seriously doubt he found his inner "Cam Newton" by transferring.

I need to watch a Pacers game to see exactly how his game works at this level. VERY interesting, to say the least.

He started because of an injury, but looks like he will be the starter for the next two to three weeks at a minimum.

Anyone who has been placed in a position to start an NBA game for ANY reason is a sign that they are being trusted. Maybe in another game or two the film will expose him and he may end up back on the bench. But still, damn fast rise that I did not foresee.

And the announcer says, "Andrew Nembhard, the rookie out of Gonzaga...." Good for Andrew.

Andrew guarded Lebron during the entire time Andrew was in the game. He has become a very valuable player for the Pacers.
