I thought you meant Rashad too. Torrence is 22. O’Cyrus is 54.

He’s not gonna improve at UF - he doesn’t have the accuracy or leadership skills, and those things don’t just “improve” just because he ages another year.

if he wants to improve his draft spot he could take the Driskel rout, go to a lower tier school, beat up on inferior competition, and put up better numbers and better film. That ain’t happening for him in this league.

He can get paid millions to be a backup or sit all season.. Develop 24/7 without college restrictions or classes. Not take punishment and be closer to a second contract.

Totally disagree. He will improve at UF. His leadership skills and touch on his passes need upgrading, and, that can happen here. He's a sophomore with one starting season under his belt.

His plan was always 3 years then pro. Nothing in 2022 has derailed him from that plan.

Expect the announcement after we know our bowl destination.

I hope he comes back just so everyone can bitch and complain for another year.

Give Gator fans what they want, a scapegoat.

I’ve posted many times about what a terrible idea it is for AR to go pro. He’s not ready mentally.
But I saw a mock 2 days ago that had him going #2 to the Panthers (my favorite nfl team.)
Not 2nd round, but #2 overall.
It is beyond belief, but the Panthers are that stupid. I could see them doing this.
It won’t go well for either AR or Carolina if this happens, but hard to tell AR to stay if this is true.
I will add Peyton and Noah stayed even tho they were projected 1 overall and both were good decisions.

Mods are we really okay with questioning our starting QBs heart and character? There is ZERO evidence of any of this. By all accounts he’s a great Gator and awesome with fans.

It’s one thing to criticize his accuracy and another to question his character.

The portal could completely change things in one year. Longterm(2-3 years) is reasonable if your thinking about recruiting and development . Teams can import seasoned talent and skip that. Smart teams will buy very talented proven players. 6-8 nfl ready players will join some rosters and teams will come out of nowhere.

He has the physical tools but he didn’t improve exponentially this year. The potential of being a top ten nfl qb is there I guess but I don’t see it happening.

Russel took the money and ran. I don’t think he made much effort to develop into an nfl qb.

LMFAO!!!! Ha ha ha. 14 straight incomplete passes, the FSU QB outrushed him by what--5x as many yards? What are you seeing? Lay off the bong. I would take FSU's QB over him, any day. I don't care how big he is, he doesn't see the field, is wildly inconsistent in the pass game, and runs successfully only sporadically. He got media hype over two or three big plays and now the media hype train continues. He is no heisman winner--not even close. And any NFL team that pays big bucks for him will eat every penny.

I agree completely with everything except the last line. I've learned never to underestimate the human capacity for risk taking leavened with a heavy dose of rashness. IMO, he'll go no later than the second round and will probably go late in the first to team with an established QB and the luxury of bringing him along slowly.

The portal machine is the great equalizer now, imho. UF is in position to land a really good experienced portal QB. Hopefully multiple other quality starters too.

"Measureables"? Like what? He is big and

    PFFFFT.

Every QB has receivers with drops.

But 14 in a row? Throws into the stands? Are you blind?

And if he can't lead our team past hapless Vandy-who got smoked by UT- and this shitty FSU team, he is no leader. Do you watch the games? He looks stoned to me.

I agree with some of the posters here concerning leadership or lack thereof. I just don't see the "leadership" qualities that a few keep saying he has. It troubled me when I read his quotes concerning loosing to Vanderbilt and FSU.
I can't imagine Tebow, who was a great college QB leader, saying "you win some and lose some"
Leaders are pissed when they lose or don't play well.

We probably need other positions in the portal worse. We may have a qb on the roster but this year has proven we need other positions. We need a te unless Bordingham is a beast. We need at least one lb for the two deep. We probably lose a couple oline. We have no elite edge guys. AR was good enough this year to win games and any qb we get isn’t likely to be much better overall. We just have too many other problems to address.

Yeah, it is possible, but what team in the SEC is doing this and winning Titles?

It still always comes back to recruiting and getting a long term QB in your system that fits. This is what Bama, Georgia, Ohio St. And Clemson have been doing consistently. I can not think of one team that has won a title bringing in 6-8 retreads and winning a title. Maybe I am missing a team.
