Dumb question, I'm disappointed, of course. But what does that have to do with turning down 15 practices that this team of very young players needs? That isn't logic, it's just loser mentality. Here's some logic for you, by turning down those extra practices it allows all of the teams we play next year that go to bowls 15 more practices than we will have. Tell us, how does that help us in any way?

I get the frustration, but the team that were quitters last year, have been Frankensteined together, and gave the FSU coach’s third year team a run for its money in its own house.

Let’s see how much better we get with an additional 15 practices. The team we play will get an additional 15 practices, too.

How many of our players will be getting cut loose after the bowl game or entering the transfer portal on their own?

That's completely irrelevant, and the practices are beneficial for next year as all of the kids won't be leaving. In fact, most will be back. Do you give any thought to these inane posts?

As much as the possibility of going 6-7 sucks, the extra practice is a benefit and has no downside in and of itself.

I think everyone needs to get over this obsession with the 2022 record. We've have had 3 losing seasons since Meyer left. Does adding another really matter?

Avoiding more from here on out should be the focus. The extra practices should have a benefit that will pay off in the spring and fall practices. This season is over, fwiw.

My wish would be for AR to opt out and to get a full game with Kitna to see what he can do.

    ===========================================
Teams that had finished 5-7 but cannot go to the post-season bowls because they did not reach the 6 win minimum to be eligible for a bowl game:

    ACC:
    Miami (5-7, 3-5) <--- Ha! ha!
    Georgia Tech (5-7, 4-4)

    Big Ten:
    Michigan St (5-7, 3-6)

    Big-12:
    West Virginia (5-7, 3-6)

    PAC12:
    Arizona (5-7, 3-6)

    SEC:
    Vanderbilt (5-7, 2-6)
    Texas A&M (5-7, 2-6)

    Auburn (5-7, 2-6)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both the Commodores & the Aggies had a resurgence to end their seasons.
Don't you think that teams like Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and certainly Miami would like to go to a bowl game but can't?
So, Why is there a question of Florida turning down a bowl invitation?
    =================================================
Meanwhile, take a look at our 'friends' down South:

There seems to be a lot of noise in Mario Cristobal's first season, too:
    - Miami lost their 5th consecutive home game (Oh My! When do the Gators play their next game in Coral Gables?)
    - It is the worst season (since 1977) for the Hurricanes(5-7), who were picked in the preseason to win the ACC Coastal Division. (So, much pre-season hype by the media!)
    - Cristobal's Miami Hurricanes' Defense allowed at least 40 points in a game for a school-record fifth time this season. (Aw, too bad! lol!)

    - Miami’s season is over after failing to become bowl-eligible with the loss.
    (The hits keep coming!)
It is the second straight season Miami will not be playing in a bowl game after a COVID outbreak cancelled their appearance in the Sun Bowl last year.
    - The Hurricanes have just one bowl victory since 2006. (Do tell!)

Hurricanes humiliated in season finale, finish 5-7 in Mario Cristobal’s first season
    ===================================================
I say, Florida should go to a bowl game and try to fix their defense & overall team while preparing for their next season & Spring Practice. While the records are identical 6-6 finishes, I believe that the 2022 Florida team had made strides compared to the 2021 UF version that got blown out at times.

In 2022, Florida had a lot of good wins:
    - South Carolina who had just defeated two top 10 teams (#8 Clemson & #5 Tennessee) & knocked these two teams out of the 2022 playoff race.
    - #14 Utah who will be playing playoff-hopeful, Southern Cal for their 2nd consecutive PAC12 title.
    - TexasAM who had just knocked out #5 LSU & 1st year coach Brian Kelly out of the 2022 CFP's. LSU football gets a big F in loss to Texas A&M. Coaching grades out D-
    - and
Missouri (UF gets Revenge against Luke Skywalker's team, lol)
For context of the Florida-Missouri feud:

Darth Mullen calls for 'Peace' & understanding between the two teams!

    Luke Skywalker rubs it in.
If one cannot laugh at yourself....

    - In Napier's first season at Florida, the Gators had finished 5-2 at home but only 1-3 on the road and 0-1 in Jax(neutral field).

Now for the defensive/special teams woes.
Florida had also lost many shootouts (i.e Tennessee, LSU, FSU, etc.) and played #1 Georgia close up to a point (got within 20-28 in the 3rd qtr before the bulldogs pullled away for their 20-42 win).

Florida also had the late season, letdown loss to Vanderbilt (1st loss in Nashville since 1988) because of injuries (to wideouts X.Henderson), mental fatigue (a noon game at freezing temperatures), etc. and did not handle that situation too well. Credit the 'Dores who had previously defeated Kentucky (to snap a 19 game SEC losing streak) for wanting that game more than Florida. That issue is something that Napier will have to address with this program going forward.

So, to reiterate, Florida should reward their team by going to a bowl game. The Gators fought hard for all of their victories while also suffering some setbacks in their losses. Florida did not really get blown out by any team except for maybe Georgia.

    =============================================

Other 6-win teams like Florida (6-6, 3-5) that barely qualified for a post-season, bowl game:

    ACC:
    none

    Big Ten:
    Wisconsin (6-6, 4-5)

    Big-12:
    Baylor (6-6, 4-5)
    Oklahoma (6-6, 3-6)
    Kansas (6-6, 3-6)

    PAC12:
    none

    SEC:
    Missouri (6-6, 3-5)
    Arkansas (6-6, 3-5)

The team’s heart will not be in it if there are a lot of players who sit out the bowl game. So it’s not like we’re going to get a lot of good out of it. In fact, one could easily argue that declining a bowl is more productive if half the team doesn’t intend to play anyway. Big question is would AR sit out and I’m guessing he would.

True, and so will at least 8 of the teams on next year's schedule. Do you realize the advantage that those 15 practices would give our opponents if we didn't have them as well?

Even if their hearts aren't in the game, it gives them fifteen extra practices where many will be trying to establish themselves before the new recruits arrive.

Fair point. And hopefully the team, as a whole, will take the game seriously. Imagine what a difference it would make if AR played. That would help the entire team’s focus.

I have yet to see this team lay down and not give effort.

The bowl game may very well be a positive experience and maybe a victory too.

That makes zero sense. Guys that sit are not guys that will be here next year....so getting them 15 practices and a game is invaluable. How on earth could you believe sitting at home on the couch for December "is more productive"?

The practices are absolutely what we need. Coaches with time to teach and evaluate. Figuring out what you have next year. Giving next years starters relevant snaps. Don’t get much time to practice fundamentals with the team once the season starts.

I guess everyone has the right to their own opinion unless their opinion is different from yours.

I don’t like losing records. We had one last year and those extra practices didn’t seem to have helped us this year. FSU didn’t have extra practices last year and it didn’t seem to hurt them this year. But, again, my opinion is different from yours, so my comments must be inane in your book.

The inane part is discounting any opportunity for practice. Geez, is that so difficult to understand?
