I don't often get into the news but heard where a man was terminated for saying: "All lives matter" in response to another who said: Black Lives Matter.

I'm not here to argue but just want to know the narrative is.

In and of itself there is nothing wrong with the phrase "All lives matter" although for a little context the slogan "Black lives matter" originated because Blacks were more likely to be shot by police than whites. Before somewhat posts statistics indicating that more Whites were shot and killed by police than Blacks keep in mind that Blacks represent around 13% of the US population in contrast to white Americans who represent 70 to 75 percent of the US population.

“All lives matter” would not have been a divisive political issue. The object is to divide people, which prolongs the issue at hand, raises tensions and thus money.

Whenever I hear BLM I agree BLM. Add: but not more important than other lives. So they don’t warrant hostage videos and billions of grift from corporations.

Because it's used as a retort to diminish the issue of cops-on-AA violence. It's cowardly terminal argument that non-serious people use to think they're clever. It is, however, a great litmus test to identify close minded people.

Had to offer that rebuttal. His statement does not describe my sentiments.

Please don't tell me what my motivations are.

"That" in the sense of a determiner, pronoun, adverb or unfinished conjunction?

You initially posed as a person that is truly curious, but it appears that you started a thread asking a question with the goal to rebut any answer that is given.

It does seem odd to me that people don't understand what is wrong with it. Of course all lives matter, but the point of BLM is that some lives don't seem to matter as much as others.

Don't fall for that. They absolutely know what's wrong with it. They wouldn't walk up to someone wearing a breast cancer awareness shirt saying that awareness for all cancers is important

I agree totally with BLM. It does seem that all lives should matter.

When confronted with the fact that evidence shows that all lives don't appear to matter, we can stick with the theory, and repeat that all lives matter, or look into why the reality doesn't match the theory.
