I don’t think anyone views him as the savior. Just a really good option to hold the position down for a season until Rashada is ready.

And not sure how you can say his film is just “ok”. He was dropping some dimes on there… and throwing receivers open when it needed. He has more skill, not to mention more experience, than any of our current options.

Agree, have been very surprised with Kitna even though it’s in limited action. Quick reads, good timing and decisive. BN’s offense doesn’t require a DT QB, although having one certainly gives you options. We really don’t know what we have in Miller but he was ahead of Kitna until his injury.

    ^typo or edit....

    2. Sam Hartman, Wake Forest
The skinny: A wildly underrated career at Wake Forest, Hartman needs 4 TD passes to be the ACC’s all-time leader at 108. He’ll be 24 years old by the time next season begins, and if he doesn’t leave for the NFL, will be the most coveted QB transfer in the 2023 class.

Throws a beautiful, catchable ball and is a fiery leader. The perfect combination for a program desperate for leadership and talent at the position.

    The perfect fit: Florida.

And if we had a defense like UGA that’d be fine. Stetson as a natty winning QB at UGA is not like Deshaun Watson at Clemson. Clemson won because of Watson, Stetson is just along for the ride. He’s closer to Trent Dilfer winning a Super Bowl with the Ravens. If you’re saying Hartman is the best option, fine but I’ve seen some people acting like he’s going to get a statue out front or something(I’m exaggerating but you get my point). As far as him throwing dimes, I mean it’s a highlight reel, I would hope he would have some great passes. I could make a highlight reel of Feleipe Franks throwing dimes too. When your highlight reel has that many bad passes I’d be concerned. How many of those passes would be completed against SEC comp. If he ends up here I’ll cheer for him and hope he does end up with a statue but how much of his success is because of the system, competition, etc.

Fair points, with all our shortcomings we need a tall QB with a cannon who runs a 4.5, right ?

You could literally make that same argument about every college QB. I get it, there are no guarantees but this guy has a much more proven body of work over those that have entered the portal in the past that many were tripping over for… i.e. both Daniels’, Rattler, Williams, Ewers etc.

I've watched a lot of WF this season, and this kid would start Day 1 at UF if AR leaves. If AR stays, he may still start Day 1. Hartman's NFL upside might be limited, but his production speaks for itself...and it's not like he is playing on a team of blue-chippers either.

Clemson’s front seven while Watson was there was equally responsible for those wins. They were really good.
