If you were a betting man, who do you see flipping to us on ESD. We get some more blue chips, even a 5* before then we look even more appealing
The "bag$" from all these other teams will prevent much of our momentum flipping players late on signing day, unfortunately. But we will still have the Transfer Portal. I hope that doesn't happen, but it's been that way since the NIL started.
Like everything else happening during Coach Napier's significant re-build . . . I have been and still am suggesting patience. It's tough, I know. There are good reasons we don't want to publish certain things on an internet message board though. Just trust that Santa is coming (maybe early). LOL!
Most of the flipping will happen before ESD. A 5* will help but I'm not convinced UF will play the money game in a way to get top 30 prospects. I do see Billy playing games with the timing of the announcements. If there are some big flips to the Gators right before ESD, I'd expect more on that day. I fully expect to lose a commit or two before ESD.
I fully anticipate a few more big splashes before signing day. Billy is showing his recruiting chops. You’ve got to like to recruit and really work at it.
Honestly Strange I think the priority will be as listed above. In reality I think the Gators TAKE, any seven, at any position that we are recruiting. Reason - My understanding is that the kids left on the board are all very highly rated and are ALL takes. I suppose some three star O Lineman could be flipped or slip in but I'm thinking we TAKE just about any kid left on the board, at any position, that wants in.
The most likely actual "flips" seem to be Walker and Fletcher. But hopefully we can land a few of the very high-end recruits at positions of greatest need who remain uncommitted.
There is no limit for the next two years. Only the 85 hard cap at any given time during the year. Just have to have enough transfer out so there is room.
I sure hope so. But the rolling 85-scholarship limit could be the monkey in the wrench. I suppose it's possible to add well over 30, but it will not be easy. And depending on how this stuff times out, we could be extremely shorthanded for a late Dec/Jan bowl game. Of course, if Billy Blue-chip goes good and crazy on ESD, we'll no doubt find a way to find away - bowl game or not.
The timing comes when they register and report for class, not when they sign their LNI's. The first obstacle is January enrollment and the Early Enrollees. The next is summer A, B and fall.
If there is a big purge, I expect to be short handed for the bowl game. The portal opens Dec 5th. So anyone who jumps in won't be playing or practicing for the bowl game. Those who know that they are jumping will do it as soon as possible if they want to get picked up and report to their new school in January. If they hesitate, they may not have a home until summer A. There are 2 windows to transfer now. The 1st is for 45 days from championship weekend(this yr until Jan 19th 2023) and the 2nd is May 1st to the 15th . So Jan enrollment and Summer A enrollment.
