So you have experience in defeating global superpowers on a budget? How do you know that they have enough? What if they don't have enough and they lose? Giving them more money after they lose is unlikely to help them. If you think spending a few billion now to defeat Russia is a bad thing, try imagining how much we will spend if we have a return to Cold War military spending with not one, but two aggressive and hostile superpowers to be worried about. And Cold War military spending can go on for decades, if you weren't paying close attention to the last one.
Biden was a part of the administration that handed Russia a "reset" button just before Russia invaded Crimea, meaning that all prior sins were forgiven. In reality, it was a clear message that the U.S. under Obama would forgive virtually anything, so invade anywhere you want to. Trump was just an idiot that admired dictators.

The U.S. military was probably at its peak (compared to other armies of the world) in 1991, when it drove Iraq (the 4th strongest army in the world at the time) out of Kuwait in a few months with only 150 U.S. soldiers killed versus about 100,000 Iraqi soldiers. The U.S. had weapons and capabilities that the Iraq army could not even imagine (smart bombs that could target a doorway or window from miles in the air, radar-invisible aircraft, tanks that fire rounds every few seconds with deadly accuracy, etc.), plus brilliant strategy, great logistics, and impressive coordination between multiple allied nations. That global dominance continued through the 1990's, but began slowly weakening in the 2000's as other countries began working on developing similar technologies.

Just a few minor facts. 1) Russia had more Nazis in its military than Ukraine did in its military. However, Russia did not invade its own military bases and clear out the Nazis. 2) Nazis were not running the military or government of Ukraine. The top political leader of Ukraine is, in fact, Jewish. 3) The "Nazi problem" in Ukraine was fairly trivial and no different than most other countries in the world that tolerate freedom of expression, including the U.S. 4) The use of Nazis in Ukraine as an excuse for invasion has as much justification as if Russia had invaded based on jaywalkers, reckless drivers, or people playing loud music. Most people do not like people who do these things, but it is a poor justification for open warfare in the 21st century.

I think it’s pretty clear he was suggesting that he doesn’t care whether Ukraine wins or loses, so long at it costs the U.S. nothing. That’s another way of saying, “I do not understand that defeating Russia is in the cold national security interest of the U.S., no matter which party is in power.”

Absurd. We are still much more advanced than every other country in the world. We have weapon systems that have never been used in combat before, because we haven't needed to. We are just not as far ahead of other countries as we used to be. Warfare has changed somewhat with the advent and proliferation of drones, but in many ways it has not (artillery is still important, domination of the skies is still important). The U.S. military has struggled in non-military roles (nation-building, primarily) since the 1990's, but that does not concern the ability of the U.S. military to defeat any other country's military.
