Gould was from Pemberton, New Jersey. Champaign-Urbana is in central, IL, about three hours from Chicago. Emmitt replaced Wayne Williams at RB. Gould was way down the depth chart by then. He transferred to Minnesota after the 1987 season. Things have gone very well for him since then.

Antonio is from Bolingbrook, about 20 miles southwest of Chicago. I work just outside of Bolingbrook in Romeoville. Flynn's from Lake Forest up on the North Shore.

 

fun fact…a girlfriend of mine who was in Hume hall in 87-88…her roommate in Hume dated Wayne Williams fall of 1987.

 

Wayne was a pretty good RB. I seem to remember him getting some long runs when he came in to spell Emmitt.

 

Started to show a passing attack and spreading the ball around, as well as a few WR TD passes. That helps. Dominant rushing team has to help with O line recruits and RB. Just need a TE like other teams have.

 

Went from Pitts to Zanders, pretty crazy.

 

Sad that if we had just pursued Jason Taylor’s son he would be playing for us and not LSU right now. STA kid that we never showed sincere interest in. Someone we could have prioritized and now he starts as a true freshman for LSU

 

I’m sitting here crying that lsu came in and bought Perkins at the last minute. That dude is a stud as a true freshman.

 

Lol all these recruits are going to ruin their careers at Miami.

 

His last catch for TD, it was almost like …’this is too easy. Can’t wait for college when someone can challenge my ass’

Gonna be a diffidence maker.

Perkins and less transfer away from us could have been the difference in most of our losses
