I have no inside knowledge, but I believe the same based on it being best for both parties. I really thought AR would be elite when he was in HS but I haven’t seen any growth out of him with the biggest disappointment being between this year and last.

Our biggest problem this year has been the defense not being able to get stops on third and forth down> AR got no help in the first half from the wide receivers against Georgia. If the ball hits you in the hands, you have to catch it. The play calling didn't help either. 3rd and 8, 3rd and 10, and Billy calls a run up the gut? Against Georgia's defense? If he's not scared to go for it on 4th down, why is he scared to call the right play on 3rd down? Our offense has shown very little imagination this year. No shovel passes. Almost no passes to the running backs. Very few outside runs. Maybe try two backs in the backfield once in a while. It worked with Lasko. What about Tebow's rocker step? AR is built for that. Billy just seems to want to steamroll the other team and the other team knows it. You have got to surprise them and hit 'em where they ain't.

Is it the best for both though? A 2nd year in the same offense should lead to better results. I think best for both only holds true if we believe the offense is a misfit and he will never develop in it or that AR isn't capable of fixing his shortcomings altogether. I don't know the answer just throwing out ideas.

Our biggest problem is loft (lack of f talent). AR doesn't get much help. No fear at wr or dee end. If i were the coach of any team i would have my backup qb play one series a game just to get some experience. Behind cbn 100% he will get us back to an sec roster. No one on this team would start for the leghumpers!

I agree with all of the above items.

I will add one more item. This team (player and coaches) does not have any history (or is it continuity?) of playing together (or is it being on the same page?).
We have 123 players, a new set of coaches (maybe a hold over or two) that have little or no history of playing as cohesive unit. We have almost 80 Freshmen and Sophomores and only 25 Juniors and Seniors. The last two years have basically been a reload to replace the numbers of players using up their eligibility and players leaving the team (which is large).

Billy needs to keep the attrition smaller, bring in good replacements, and get everyone (coaches and players) on the same page.

AR has only been sacked 8 times. The OL is good enough to let a capable QB be effective.

AR has failed to show me he can consistency read the field and deliver the ball to an open receiver. Our WRs/RBs are getting open.

The Gators could easily win against TAMU & FSU. But, AR's 64.9% completion rating and this defense means TAMU & FSU need to play poorly. Don't you think AR needs to have at least a 70% qbr to win?

    THIS!
This is a true statement! But...upon further examination...

This is more on the defense then offense IMHO! Ar has hit some beautiful passes and made some spectacular runs. But if you can't be 'consistent' how do you get 1st downs?! If the defense can't get off the field you have to put up 60 on offense to win games. Consistency on offense and defensive talent is our issue. AR, if he sticks around, will make a quantum jump next year. Or not. If you see the guy that is open and you can get him the ball you can win a lot of games with even a decent defense. But if you can't see the open receiver or if you can and can't get it to him...you just end up with losses and spectacular highlights from the bombs and runs.

Wholesale overhaul is in the works...consistency in the QB play needed, and defensive playmakers. Personally, just one mans opinion, the offense works when the players do their job. Main culprit for offensive dysfunction is the QB. Love the kid, hope he can come around. A good defense would make him look better.

And a win at A&M would be nice.

    Go Gators.

Every loss this year has been for a slightly different reason. In the UGA game in particular we had several receivers wide open and our QB missed downfield throws to them. That was the difference in that game, IMHO.

What sucks is that after the Tennessee game I thought we had that accuracy thing figured out. We did not, obviously...

But when you watch, you see the pressure is there very quickly. AR is good at getting out of it, and unfortunately very good at just throwing the ball away instead of hanging in there and being patient.

I'd rather he take more sacks, honestly.

My apologies, as I was confusing qbr with completion percentages. So, here's a comparison between the Gators and who we've played:

    FL - 70.8 vs 68.8 (UTES)
    FL - 40.0 vs 54.2 (UK)
    FL - 55.6 vs 42.9 (USF)
    FL - 54.5 vs. 78.6 (UT)
    FL - 80.0 vs 64.9 (EWU)
    FL - 57.1 vs 38.3 (MO)
    FL - 60.0 vs 93.7 (LSU)
    FL - 48.0 vs 81.2 (GA)

LSU at 93.7 should never ever happen to a Gators football team. We had the worst game plan for that team.

Yeah, that half was regrettable, but we still had at least 3 wide open TDs that AR missed on.

But in a perfect world our defense is our strength, not our weakness. I still cannot explain why they seem so lost at their positions.

Too simplistic of a take...AR is not your average QB physically and his mobility is well above average. That has a lot to do with the lack of sacks.
