I find this answer intruiging tommyvee. Who really makes the signing decision:? The kid? Mom and Dad? Other Relatives? Mr. Envelope? Handlers? Coaches? Prayer? Obviously arguments may be made for each. I do believe in the world of the NIL and transfer Portal more people than usual makes a difficult decision increasingly more complex.
I’m sure it’s different for each prospect, but a lot of these kids are mama’s boys. Need to make sure mama’s happy. It’s really a tough job recruiting these families since the influential person may or may not have the kid’s best interest at heart. I really don’t envy our coaches/staff when it comes to recruiting.
We know the addage that applies here: "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" Uh, Jacob Copeland's mom comes to mind here.
As a partial answer, if he is still 17, a parent is going to have to sign the NLI on ESD/NSD and probably the NIL, unless billionaires like seeing their contracts torn up in front of their faces by a teenager when the teenager sees a better situation.
uh, Candi Fisher and Taylor Jacobs comes to mind. Taylor should send Jimbo a card this week saying Halloween "Candi" tastes sweet.
Also, considering his Mom works for UCF, their fans seem to be pretty insufferable and irrational, with an inferiority complex with Gator sports. They don't even seem to know much about CFB and what makes UF a better choice. So maybe they don't want to deal with the people around them harassing them about it, IF they aren't doing so already.
Neither was Spiller's mom, but that never changed a thing either. We'll see how much of a momma's boy he really is.
