One last attempt. Thankfully Az is a minority now. Most know they were wrong and see the evidence and data.

We don't shut down for the flu, because the flu isn't novel, and hasn't been a pandemic in over a century. Flu deaths also vary by year, and range between around 12,000 to 50,000 a year. COVID, on the other hand, became the third leading cause of death. And by this chart, COVID accounted for 6.5X more deaths than flu and pneumonia combined. If there was ever a flu that caused the same amount of deaths COVID did, I'd support a shut down for that flu season.

And again, there was a country that first treated COVID as just another flu. They regretted this decision and shut down with even greater restrictions than what we ever saw here stateside. Guess there are some people who didn't read this back in 2020, and still haven't learned from Italy.

What we might have learned from Italy but did not and to catastrophic effect: establishing panic as health policy kills multitudes.

I understand you were on the wrong side. That is fine because it was novel. We made the wrong decisions to shut down and keep kids out of school and that caused generational damage. It is okay to admit so we don’t ever do it again!

The problem with ‘novel’ is that it can always be used to beat down and break humanity as has been done since 2020.

Fortunately, novel viruses that cause pandemics don't come around that often. If you admit you would be ok with at minimum, 2X the number of dead from COVID, then you can make the claim you were right and I was wrong. I am not at all comfortable with the current death total, and know we could have done much better. Shame we didn't, because once someone is dead, they are gone forever. On the other hand, kids are resilient, and can make up ground on lost education. And personally, another 1 million dead to keep schools open is not a deal I would make.

    Number died of Covid: 0

Evaluate the insane overreach in light of that.

We killed tens of millions worldwide based on the decisions to lockdown. The starvation and hunger numbers alone define how idiotic these policies were. The fact you think it was okay to hurt kids over this is something we will just never agree on.

So it's ok to kill millions more from the virus? So that we don't "hurt" kids? Again, a little pain we all had to experience for millions of lives saved is a trade I'd make again. It sucked, for sure, but global pandemics are never fun.

You are just making crap up. We do know that we killed tens of millions more through starvation worldwide and increased hunger worldwide by around 150 million by implementing the lockdowns. We do know we set kids back and hurt the one in the most need by shutting them out of school.

That’s a pretty vague study. I’m someone that missed work after my second dose as a precaution. I spent the day playing video games and watching Netflix and I’m still here to tell about it. I took the precaution because after my first dose I did feel pretty rough. Over exerted myself by working right after and did end up “seeking medical attention” which ended up being unnecessary and an overreaction. I’m not saying the study’s findings aren’t legitimate, but assuming they’re legit I’d question how many were necessary and how many reported incidents/missed work ended up fine within 24 hours.

Not making stuff up. I linked studies from Israel, Germany, and the US linking schools being open and community spread of COVID. I linked the results of Sweden which didn't lock down, to that of Finland, which did, that showed Sweden's morality rate being 3X higher. I also linked US death rates that showed COVID being 6.5X more deadly than the flu plus pneumonia combined.

Making stuff up means not having evidence that supports your position. I have plenty of evidence. You are just too entrenched in your position to even acknowledge all the evidence I presented.

I agree there was damage done to kids who were kept out of school. I have two myself. I saw it first hand. But I also saw what happened in Italy after they first thought COVID was just another flu. Saw what happened in the UK when they first tried the herd immunity approach. And I acknowledge all the evidence that keeping schools open would have meant more spread, more hospitalizations, and more deaths.

It tried to warn you. You can't have a rational discussion with someone who isn't rational. Just laugh and move on.
