Is it a fact that #9 is going pro next year?

I'm not bashing the kid but he doesn't dominate anyone. Maybe NFL scouts see something different.

Regardless, we need an army of DTs.

Just depends on his predraft feedback. If he’s projecting round 1-2 he’s probably gone. If he projects day 2-3 pick then he may come back.

I see what you are saying. A DT can get some stats and still not be impacting the game. Early this year he was getting some pressures and looked like he might be the deal. He really hasn't had that impact in the last few games and is a part of a unit that is performing rather poorly. The whole spine of the defense is a problem.

Could it be that he is getting consistently double teams throughout a game?
    Don't know... just asking...

He needs another year in college but he just had a baby this year, father passed away last year, and that NFL money talks. I don't think he's in the right scheme either. I think he's a SSDE in a 3-4 (which we are in now but we're not getting much help from whoever plays DT) or a DT in a 4-3.

Despite all of that, he's not being doubled as much as folks are claiming he is and even if that was the case, we've seen elite DT's work through that and still have an impact. Split the double team or get off on the snap before he can even be doubled. Stuff like that.

I was thinking along those lines as well. Not easy with a baby, not just getting enough sleep but getting along with the mom with the new situation, probably her getting much less sleep, plus school and practices, etc.

Interesting. Average for ONLY the #1 DTs on their teams is 37, but 53 is still too much. Need quality DT depth (plus sound LB and S play)

We badly need three 300lbs DTs in this recruiting cycle. Mullen really graded a ‘F’ for recruiting.

No. Right forum. Lewis Carter and LeBlanc should have us on speed dial now.
