6 of us are going to the LSU game and it’s our FIRST ever game at the swamp, excited as anything!!!
However I’m meeting up with the other 5 in Gainesville and like I said it’s our first time. Any recommendations for a meet up place that’s not going to horrific traffic? Maybe a Lowes’s or Home Depot?
Then parking? What will it cost and any avoidance areas ?
Will be 3 adults and 3 teenagers looking for a good time and good memories.
    AND A WIN

There will be traffic everywhere. Get there early and park as close to the stadium as you can then walk and enjoy the campus and pregame atmosphere. Have a great time! GO GATORS!

  3. Oaks Mall and Celebration Pointe both have shuttles to and from the stadium. If you want to meet up just to car pool I would recommend the same places. If you want to park near the stadium you can get there early and park by the tailgaters, or pay for parking at the nearby parking garages, elementary schools, or bars for a fee.

There is tons of yard parking in the neighborhoods directly N of the stadium although the closer you are to Univ Ave it can get pricey. I recommend the pre-game festivities on what used to be Fleming Field just N of the N Endzone. Getting there early is good advice since traffic can get gnarly.

BTW, University Ave is closed prior to and after game next to campus, so don't try to drive down that route near game time.

If you get there 3 hours early, you can park down the hill from campus police.

It’s easy to meet in the food court at the Union.

Leave an hour after the game to let traffic die down.

Go out Archer Road (middle lane) to go to I-75

I’m driving to Gainesville tomorrow just to scout out the area and check parking options. My relatives texted me this morning to see what I’d found out. In all the years I used to live in Jacksonville I’ve never been to a Florida game. Came down a week early to work on my mother in law’s house. Gotta take a break tomorrow and head over. I sure hope Florida wins. It’s funny that I’ve been to Florida/ugag games but I’ve never been to Gainesville. Sorta excited even at 65 years old. I remember listening to Florida/ugag and fsu on the radio sitting on the living room floor when I was too poor to own a tv

It's a bit of a walk but easy parking and getting out can be had a little east of campus in the Innovation Park area.

The old museum parking lot aross from the reitz union is still free and available, I believe, if you get there early. Lot of construction in that area but pretty sure you can access via Gale Lemerand from archer or university.

After game you can walk to Turlington and watch band play a final song, then the drumline puts ona show that lasts about 20 minutes.

We usually park at the garage at Archer and Lemerand and walk up the hill or catch a golf cart.

It's a GREAT gameday walk from there to BHG. Taking in all that goes with a night game in Gator Country is always remembered.
