Yea, can't imagine 300 lb football players on the typical Allegiant seat. Hopefully, the charters are different.

 

Allegiant is a really bad airline.

My daughter worked for Allegiant back in 2013. I agree that the airline sucks!

 

So, are they home yet?

 

My family had a flight scheduled with Allegiant from Lexington (my home) to Sanford. We boarded a few hours late and all we were told was that it was routine maintenance. Sat on the plane, at the gate, for almost 2 hours. I had a good view of the cockpit because the door was open so I could see the technician working on the controls. They announced that they were in communication with Las Vegas to get it fixed. Then the technician had to leave to get a printout of the instructions. When she came back, the pilot was reading the instructions to the technician while she did the work. Then they announced we had to get off the plane so they could reboot the controls. After a while they announced that they needed a part that was in Cincinnati and it would be driven to Lexington. However, they were not canceling the flight and wouldn’t give an estimate on the boarding time. Also, it was late at night by this time so airport security was closed. You would not be able to leave and get back in. Airport restaurants were closed.

I made the decision that we would go home and drive to Florida the next morning. We had already been delayed 7 hours by then.

I was getting text updates on the drive. We were in Florida by the time there was a text that boarding had started. This was more than 24 hours after the original boarding time.

 

True, but, then again, EWU only came here to be cannon fodder for the paycheck. They probably weren't going to spend it all on a flight home.

 

Who else here is old enough to remember People's Express?
You didn't pay for your ticket till after they they took off.
That was the craziest airline ever...but it worked!
