I picture my old neighborhoods.

Harbour Heights right on the Peace River/Charlotte Harbor right off I-75 bridge to Punta Gorda

Nakomis when I was younger.

Bayshore Gardens in Bradenton.

I hate thinking of what those areas may look like tomorrow.

Prayers and love to all of those dealing directly. That area is in my blood and I am feeling for you all.

Crazy #HurricaneHunt ! Our @USAFReserve 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron just landed. We hit hail, massive turbulence in the eye wall that dropped us 1000+ feet and saw #hurricaneIan rapidly intensity. It was NOT even calm inside the eye.

edit: they suffered some damage to their plane in the storm

 

I'm surprised there aren't tourists hanging out on that pier.

The Government of Cuba has discontinued all Tropical Storm Warnings
for Cuba.

A Weatherflow station near Sanibel Island, Florida recently
reported sustained winds of 71 mph (114 km/h) and a wind gust of
98 mph (158 km/h), and a River, Estuary, and Coastal Network
station at Redfish Pass recently reported sustained winds of 67 mph
(108 km/h) and a wind gust of 84 mph (135 km/h).
