Didn't they say his approximate target weight was about 390 and he is 420 still? Idk

Seems to have been a reason for numerous opinions that said he looked gassed in the 4th quarter. More depth and his carrying less weight would probably help that.

Hoping most of the committed DL in the '23 class are EEs.

To me it looks like we were rotating plenty of players but that running back was just big and eventually wore us out.

Agreed. It was a tough physical game the entire game. They stayed in those heavy bunch sets. Big dez and dexter we’re getting double teamed all game..

It has to be a positive that the goaline 4th down was almost entirely back-ups and underclassmen. Not ideal but it means we have bodies that have potential to make plays.

Yea. Then opting to play young guys and true freshman in those critical plays really stood out to me.

The only thing I noticed was Dexter played more snaps and Watson came in on obvious short yardage but stayed in. There were several others on the interior rotating through mostly two at a time. Lee is the only one I figured out his number but there were a few other big boys playing

I think they added an extra offensive tackle after halftime to get their run game going. We had few answers for that.

They went Heavy on a few sets... and they went to double teams on the DL. They were able to get a lot of 3rd & shorts in the 3rd quarter.... which helped their OL a little bit. Utes Qb covered up a lot of mess also with his scrambling

The only DTs that played were Dexter (312), Lee (299), Watson (415), and Mclellan (305). Not sure how much Mclellan played, he didn't have any stats. Sapp seemed to play well, not sure exactly where he was lined up. DTs Humphries (328), Thomas (314), Landry (338), and Lyons (298) don't show up in the participation chart. Somehow we have to get some minutes from these guys, thought Thomas would be involved but maybe he's behind after entering/exiting the portal this summer?
