Have it leaked to the media that this raid might happen if trump doesn’t turn everything over. Have some agents show up without the whole department circus coming and ask for the documents and let it be told trump is holding onto documents. Super easy to do. Then people would’ve been like, ok, after another month then sure, go raid the former presidents house

Gosh, I just can't imagine why the DOJ wouldn't want to leak to the media that there were a bunch of unsecured classified documents sitting around Mar-a-Lago before gaining possession of them. Good plan!

Leak to the media and allow Trump to say he's being politically targeted without successfully getting the documents back? That's an awful plan.

And the FBI showed up and tried not to make it a circus. No FBI jackets and nobody would've known has Trump kept his mouth shut.

The thing where someone said they should make it public that top secret documents are being stored under lax security at Mar-a-Lago? That seemed kind of dumb, so I assumed it wasn't you posting it. Carry on.

IDK, seems pretty fair and balanced - one side calls you an 'idiot' for supporting Trump but cross him and the other side brands you a 'trader'.

Better than doing what the fbi ultimately did. Some dems feel the same way, but hey, you keep counting Covid deaths and posting them bud. Carry on.

Trump doesn’t comply with a lawful subpoena and your answer is to leak to the press that he has classified materials in an attempt to force his hand? I must be in the twilight zone when someone would post this as a legitimate alternative to the execution of a unpublicized warrant.

This is literally the dumbest idea I've ever heard. It's like if a buddy tells you he's having some trouble in his marriage and should they go to counseling and you suggest nah just bring a couple prostitutes home and everything will be just fine.

Your response here puts you into the "not a serious person" category with several other of our Ringling Brothers employed posters.

Nah, not in the top 100. You and MD in the Covid thread wanting lockdowns and school closures have the top 100 locked up. Congrats, no one will break those hilarious takes.

I asked on the first page why Chaney's (impending) defeat brought guffaws and pleasure to the MAGAites. It has been my experience that American's traditionally applaud those that act for the greater good at great personal expense. That's normally the stuff of heroes.

Was their glee based on misogyny? Was it the inherent nature of MAGA to be cruel to others? Did her actions remind them of the binding chains of their own loyalty to trump? After 20 pages, I don't think so.

I think their's is the necessary action of a cult. The tells are in the shames ("CNN+, CNBC, she's a democrat, she's a trader). It isn't enough to criticize a person "breaking ranks". That person should be mocked, scorned and shamed publicly to such a degree as to deter future defections. I'm sure to others within the cult, these petty actions seem like good tribal work. Viewed from outside, it's absolutely despicable. Their actions serve as a cautionary tale of dangers of cults under the guise of politics.

I have a faint memory (the only kind I have these days) that the National Archives, after failing to recover all the documents they believed trump had, said publicly that they had referred the matter to DOJ. Pretty close to what you suggested.

ahh. turns out the memory was correct. It was a national news story in February. Plenty of time for trump to get right if he wanted to.

Apparently Hageman already using the trump playbook of lying.

“Earlier on Wednesday night, Hageman discussed the concession call with the Fox News host Sean Hannity. She said: “I haven’t had any other contact with Liz Cheney. She made the one effort and all she said was ‘Hello, Harriet.’ And then that was the end of it.”

Hageman repeated her claim that Cheney did not concede and her spokesperson provided Politico with a video of a phone playing a message apparently from Cheney. “The message as played on-screen contains only Cheney’s two-word greeting before sound cuts off for more than 10 more seconds.”

Cheney gave a recording of the call to Politico. In it, she said: “Hi, Harriet, it is Liz Cheney calling. It is about 8.13 [pm] on Tuesday the 16th. I’m calling to concede the election and congratulate you on the win. Thanks”
