I have to tell Candyman - that I am in no rush for the next recruit to commit to the Gators - I'm just having some fun on this thread.

See, that’s how I envision the DT/NT. I’m not expecting them to chase down the QB who bootlegs, I want him to sit there and say you ain’t moving me no matter how many people you bring. That’s why everyone has a job and you don’t play selfishly. I’m about to look at YouTube for the Orange and blue game, but if he isn’t losing ground being double teamed, I’d say he’s an above average DT. Just like the DE, don’t need him to get a sack every play, need him to set the edge majority of the time.

 

The recruit knows who was told about possible committing.

Somehow Dijon's commitment got leaked in a similiar fashion and look where that stands now. Yes I know no names were mentioned but I believe people in the know figured it out pretty quickly.

I am done with the conversation. I expressed my opinion and knew it wouldn"t be popular. However it is my opinion.

 

I'm not expecting him to play sideline to sideline. I would want him to hold ground and/or get some push. I just didn't see it. It looked to me like he was getting moved around more often than not. Several times it looked like he would just coming off the ball with little to no effort. As I said, maybe he just wasn't in condition and that limited him. I'm not trying o denigrate the kid. I just think he has a ways to go to be above average.

 

That’s what I saw as well… but others are quoting how much he bench presses…. Hey. We all want him to be good. Let’s hope so.

Have a great class as of now and still room for a few more..
Current staff, players, and recruits STILL recruiting some big fish....
New players facility just opened up....
It's looking real good for a few more top end guys or position of need guys. I'm excited for a fantastic finish. We may not get everyone we want but nobody does either. You can give me any reason as to why we did'nt get a guy but I say that's recruiting life. Be happy where we are at and what Coach Napier and the staff have done. Future is bright.

I appreciate Candy's and evrryone else's contribution to this board and read every one of Candy's posts. People getting bent out of shape because I happen to have a different opinion about 1 post is freaking ridiculous. Get over it.

 

When I was a DC, I didn't often have DTs who could just fly to the ball, so I changed philosophy and told them they would be successful with 3-4 tackles a game and not get moved off the LOS. ALL they had to do was hunker down and eat double teams. When you have OL with 30 inch wide butts in the way, RBs literally have no where to run. See Marc Sanchez and the butt fumble. Everything has to go wide and LBs, DEs, and DBs can clean that up.

Aaron Donald is the most dominant force in the NFL and he doesn't have a lot of stats. He seldom gets moved, but he is a freak of nature.

Watson can be dominant, but unless you watch the game inside the game, you won't see it. Hard to move 350+ lb NG and if you eat a double team, your defense has won that down because it frees up a tackler closer to the LOS.
