this is one reason why plea bargains are made...because they dont want to have to go to a trial with classified information

You are much better than me. I can only believe at this point that Trump, after 4-years of a lie-filled, corrupt presidency, cares only for his personal wealth and power. I think he took these documents to hold power over others, foreign and domestic, for payouts or other favors. The more damaging to our national security, the higher the payment. He further uses his base to create chaos and threats of violence against people who try to hold him accountable to the law. He does not give rip about what happens to them or the damage to the US. DT is truly remarkable in the purity of his intent.

That's what he's thinking but I don't think he's acted on any of those ambitions. He's holding on to it until he sees the perfect opportunity. That's the mind of a real estate developer. What I'm worried about is him showing off the documents to visitors to Mar-a-Lago, some of them with ideas of their own. Weren't some of the files stored in a changing room by the pool? Like that's really secure.

Looks like the onsite filter team grabbed the passports. They are being returned.

I was thinking same thing. Seems like weak sauce.

Then again it’s the Manhattan DA. I thought the biggest thing they “had” on Weisselberg was his personal tax avoidance and off the books compensation. I assume the IRS took note and will take note of his guilty plea.

Which is why he still has a 5th Amendment right.

Is it confirmed that FBI told Trump’s team they were returning and then Trump complained about it on Truth?

It seems Garland is going to have to do something, either indict Trump or resign. Many democrats are saying if he doesn't bring charges against Trump this week, he needs to resign.
And that's after CNN said Trump lied about the passports and the rest of the liberal MSM ran with the story. He pulls out the receipts and sure enough there are the 3 passports - 2 expired and 1 active. And that's after the FBI said they didn't take them but it was found they used a phrase that liberals are very good at, "not in possession of them". Meaning they might have taken them but they no longer have them. Some liberals even go so far as saying that not being in possession is akin to putting them in a drawer. They don't really have them in their possession at the moment, but it doesn't mean they have them in a locked box or handed them over to another agency. You have to spend more time interrogating CNN to make sure what they say isn't a sleight of hand where in that context of their story it is true, but overall is as false as everything Trump has been accused of.

    Wow... that's quite the ramble.

Garland doesn't have to do anything right now. The investigation is still underway.

Good thing he doesn't work for "many democrats".

What does Garland have to do with CNN's reporting? Baffling.

What is your particular outrage here?

    a. the passports were seized
    b. the passports were returned
    c. trump's use of the word "stolen"
    d. some media outlets reported the DOJ didn't seize the passports
    e. those outlets correcting their mistake the same day

I fail to see the sandal here.

FYI... I think "Many democrats", "liberals", "Liberal MSM", "some liberals" phrases immediately flags any point you're trying to make as partisan BS.

Donald Trump Demands Justice Department Release Affidavit Used to Justify Mar-a-Lago Raid (breitbart.com)

Hillary Clinton lacked the intent to be the criminal that she is.

Crossfire Hurricane: We aren't going to let Trump be president.

James Comey and a host of DOJ/FBI officials lie to congress.

Russia! Russia! Russia! even though they knew it came from Hillary Clinton and the DNC.

Mueller Report Failed and with embarrassing Mueller testimony.

    Impeachment 1.

    Impeachment 2.

Hunter Biden laptop is Russian disinformation.

Impeachment 3, errr the unselect house committee.

Historic and unprecedented raid of a former president's home and likely 2024 presidential candidate without open and full disclosure for the need to the American people. Merrick Garland said they would release affidavit if Trump requested it and now the DOJ is fighting said release in court.

The United States, a banana republic as founded in July 2016.

Your post is a bunch of “People are saying”.

The funny thing is I’ve never actually seen the first of these claims. You are claiming the mainstream opinion (and it would be just that, opinion) is Garland has 1 week to indict? Who exactly is demanding this 1 week timeline?

There seems to be some confusion about Trump’s passports (the originator of this confusion seems to be Norah O’Donnell of NBC news?). Trump was the one that originally leaked that his passports were taken (just as he released the raid). He apparently did this AFTER being offered them back, which is in itself dishonest. No clue why O’Donnel got it factually wrong, but does it actually matter? I see all kinds of headlines in alternative media about “Trump haters tricked over passports”, so I guess this is where you are getting this. But if this was supposed to be “disinformation” it seems rather… pointless... as disinformation. Wouldn’t you say? So I’m thinking O’Donnell just made a mistake or her source was overconfident but uninformed.

Garland did not say they would release the affidavit a trump's request. That's total bullshit.

The affidavit is largely immaterial given they found what they were explicitly looking for. Right?

I'm sure the political spectators (like me) would love to see the affidavit ASAP but that would not only jeopardize the investigation but also put people in harm's way. You don't want people to get hurt, right?

Regardless, the affidavit may be released if there's an indictment.

Impeachable abuse of power must be explained to the American people. Nobody believes there is any there there, just get Trump. Again, it's an impeachable abuse of power. Since there is plenty of evidence in print, New York Times, with Joe Biden pushing Merrick Garland to act as a prosecutor and to prosecute Trump, impeachment includes his sorry ass too.

Top secret SCI packets in Mar a Lago and there's nothing there? Trump could've made this go away quietly by giving all the classified stuff back when requested, not lying when Trump's lawyer said all the classified materials were returned, or complying with the subpoena to return them.

The affidavit won't be released until any charges are filed. There are people in Trump's inner circle cooperating with the Feds. Releasing the affidavit compromises them.
