I posted the link in your post below as it's easy to overlook in your post, but well worth reading. My takeaway: in order for issuance of a search warrant directed at a former president, even one as corrupt as Trump, more than probable cause is needed. There must be almost conclusive proof of a crime. As someone noted, he's in "deep trouble".

That, while I agree that this is probably a search warrant that should require the personal approval of the Attorney General, I don’t know that we can conclusively say it got it.

In part because, if you were going out of your way to make sure you dotted every i and crossed every t so that your actions would be unassailable, I personally probably would have wanted more judicial cover than approval by the duty magistrate.

I think his point is if we are going to conduct no knock raids at the home of former President’s, let’s make sure the Director is aware due to the pending political shitstorm that will result rather than have it be executed by some lower level agent in a field office.

We'll know if Garland and Wray weren't in on the warrant if there are some DOJ lawyers and FBI agents in West Palm looking for work in the near future. If I'm doing something that could potentially cause this much blowback, which anyone with 1/2 a brain knows raiding Mar a Lago would, I'm sure as hell making sure the person on top knows what is coming.

Trump has the warrant. If this is a witch hunt then he should show the warrant and prove it. He won't though because he's hiding something. Remember when he complained about the White House toilets not flushing properly? Now it makes sense
