    Sorry for your affliction.

Did he yell "fire" in a crowded theater? Did he shoot them with his AR-15 and then got away with it, OJ Simpson style? Any other sort of malicious wounding of the innocent, except for perhaps creative diarrhea of the mouth? You know, like what the NY Times and the Washington Post are used to doing with impunity? So, he is a mouthy jerk. NAIL HIS SOCIALLY CONSERVATIVE BUTT!!!

As I plainly said, there is smoke but the penalty does not reflect the act of jerkiness. It just doesn't. And my deflection is for you folks who peruse this, and others of this ilk, thread but who are at least inclined to realize that the "Conservatism is EVIL!!!" mantra is a bit over-the-top. As I said, and your snowflake got a bit warmer than what you demand, if this were a similarly mouthy BLM apologist (or worse) then cries for "spare them, they were just trying to enlighten the idiots" would be the gist of the thread. You seem to ignore this. That is your choice.

Um, how long DO you hold your breath before you turn blue and your contemporaries take you seriously?

Goodness man. I dont agree with what he said in that post, but your statement really lacks any objectivity at all.

I could just as easily say that the left makes its living basically saying there are no absolute truths and anyone claiming there is is intolerant, a bigot, or non progressive.

The point is in many of these things, both sides fight for PERCEIVED truth.

I'm not even sure what "objective" truth is.
    Truth is truth.

I think the issue here is that the Raiders (to use your analogy) were caught on tape cheating and should have all games vacated. BLM is a noble cause that in my opinion, and some people "claiming" they were BLM lost their way in many cases.

But none of that takes away from the abhorrent evil of Alex Jones and the hateful damage he inflicted on people in their most painful hour.

He is the lowest of the low.

In the AJ trial, the “Noble Ones” are the citizen peers sitting on the jury, the finder of fact in this case.

the families needed armed security at this trial. It’s been that bad for them, largely because of Jones. They have had to move to get away from the conspiracy nuts (and even then they got found and harassed), threatened physically, accosted on the street, and one woman actually threatened to kill one of them. All after their kids were murdered.
If you think inciting like that is ok, then you and I have wildly different definitions of what free speech allows for.

Does MTG want to know more about Donald Trump’s relation with Jeffrey Epstein since she brought the topic up? Of course not, we can’t dig into the orange cult god. Speaking of pedophiles, I’m sure MTG is just fine with her good buddy Matt Gaetz’s history seeing how close the two are. The right’s weird projection of pedophilia on the left is beyond ironic considering the members of their party, but we would expect nothing less from them. MTG is beyond stupid.

Truth can be relative, though. It's not always absolute, which I think was the point of your post. W/o looking it up, I would define objective truth as verifiable/backed by evidence. To that point in relation to media, I'm curious to know if there are outlets that are as far-fetched as Infowars, Newsmax, OAN, etc. on the left. I really don't know. Are there leftwing talk radio shows like Rush & Hannity?

They have this Google machine now that can help you with research. Objective truth defined:

If something is objective, it has correspondence with reality. Objective truth is something that is true for everyone, whether they agree with it or not. At one time this was simply called “truth.”

The Trumpy right has been working for awhile now to define everything they believe in as true such as the 2020 election being stolen.

There is no equivalent of this on the left especially as it relates to the BLM boogeyman.

The idiot was making money by saying that the murder of these non public people children was a staged event. He earned maybe 150 million off of pedaling his crap opinions to his brain dead audience. Don’t waste your time defending Alex Jones. He isn’t worth the effort.

The basic facts: Alex Jones lied about the families of Sandy Hook students, calling them crisis actors and tying them to a plot to take away people's guns by pretending that their children were shot. As a result, his fans harassed the families for years. This caused the families a variety of harms (need for security, need to move, inability to do basic things during the grieving period like visit the graves of their murdered children, etc.), handled in the first monetary award. The second monetary award was for punitive damages, as the jury decided he needed some monetary penalty as a discouragement against doing the same sort of thing again.

He was not sued for jerkiness. He specifically caused this set of events and the courts are trying to prevent him from doing it again in order to profit off of lies that harm people.

You have your opinion and I have never said everyone has to see it my way. But it STILL does not address how being an opportunistic, bombastic, narcissistic scumbag (in some ways) allows courts (and juries) to throw the book at him financially. He did NOT do the things I used in my second post and yet, we allow the NY Times and the Washington Post to claim...?...in order to slander folks with impunity?

You DO know that the total scumbags, the Kansas folks who picket the funerals of American Patriots, are protected by the first amendment to be scumbags, correct?

As I said, and now the third time, the outcome is NOT at the level of the transgression. Too many others are doing worse, although that is an opinion and not a fact. We are on a DAMN slippery slope. And isn't that what Griner is facing? 9 years for some personal dope? That is a totalitarian regime run by a sort-of despot. What is OUR excuse for "interpreting" the 1st A in capricious and arbitrary ways? Could it be because the Globalists want it that way? No, it COULDN'T be that!

See my last post, replying to Tilly. Judges and juries STILL have to have a basis for what transpires as a result of a transgression. This isn't a Banana Republic...yet.

Or don't you believe in the constitution?

No, we do not allow the NY Times and Washington Post to intentionally lie in a manner that harms people. You not liking one of their stories doesn't rise to that level. This did, as shown by how easy the court case was. And yes, saying something mean is protected speech. What isn't protected speech is telling a lie that materially damages a person. We have laws against that. Alex Jones violated them. Now, he pays the price.

Post is silly. If I don’t agree with you then I don’t believe in the Constitution? For your reading enjoyment here is the 7th amendment from the Constitution:
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

I would wager that most folks would agree the damage done by AJ exceeded $20.

And they did. The basis is that he said something untrue (the Sandy Hook families were crisis actors) and that lie caused material damage, in the form of harassment of those families and their need to do things like hire security or move multiple times to avoid his crazy fans, or be unable to engage in basic activities related to their attempts to recover from their children being murdered.

IMO, this is a symptom of a really sick society. And deciding to suspend A1 because it fits what we feel is another symptom of our sickness.

Shooting the doctor isn't going to get your health back in line. Stop eating fast food like it is health food, metaphorically speaking.
