Makes me chuckle that a kid from Baton Rouge picks Notre Dame over LSU with Brian Kelly at LSU “because he can recruit there better than ND”.

Another thing that makes me chuckle is that some of his lowest rated recruits this year are db. There have to be some Cajuns that hate him for letting Raymond go.

It's not over yet. And FSU usually finishes stronger in recruiting than they start. We struggled to beat them last year. Stop underestimating them and Miami.

Just remember that was with a team that was coachless and going through all the drama of last year. Not only was the HC fired, he was the OC, and the DC was fired as well. The fact FSU couldn't beat UF last year, really shows more of where they are in my opinion.

FSU's game will be in Tallahassee, and for all we know there could be a lot on the line for us if not for them. They will circle the game as usual, and play tough. We cannot afford to play that game like it is one in the win column especially if they beat a team like Clemson (although I think Miami is the one of the two that will).

FSU is down for the count and they're not poised to beat Clemson this year, or anyone else decent. I'm not sure what will bring them back to relevance (if ever), but it ain't their current coach. :D

I mean FSU could be 0-11 and I wouldn't feel awesome about playing in tally. I just don't see them making a major turn around this year. I really hope that program is down for the count.

Unless a school loses recruits in the final days before signing day, every school finishes stronger than then start. What is important is if they go up or down in class ranking vs their peers. FSU was noted as being the biggest loser on ESD, losing Travis Hunter. They picked up A Thomas but not enough to offset Hunter (and Armella during regular signing day in Feb). Every year Norvell’s classes have dropped in ranking on ESD while others have risen. Every year under Norvell they drop in total team talent ranking (which includes transfers and all his recruits). Florida and Miami hired coaches in December/November and STILL had better classes than fsu (per 247). That is the opposite of closing strong in recruiting.

If Norvell had fsu acquiring talent at a feverish rate their talent composites wouldn’t look like this:

    2018. 5th
    2019. 6th
    2020. 16th
    2021. 20th
    2022. Not yet released

    Going the wrong way.

Can We can lose to fsu? Sure. But they are like the 9th or so best team on our schedule. Miami is a better team than fsu but not world beaters but the ACC is garbage so could have a big year.

Maybe he was too diplomatic to say "because Baton Rouge is a crime infested $#!t-hole."

One of my first cousins has lived in Baton Rouge for the past 25 years... he is an LSU graduate.
He says the same thing... that Baton Rouge is one of the worst cities in the United States for crime and drugs, etc... top three?
He says that so many left New Orleans after Katrina and the Baton Rouge police force and other agencies are still trying to catch up.
It is sad, because I have been to Red Stick many many times over the last 45 years. Great city with a lot going for it...
But not so over the last 15 years....

Finishing strong is years in the past for them. Their board at present is not robust enough to make any kind of big move

Agator - Telling quote, and I agree, but sadly it was a contest between bad and worse.

UF just crumbled the last half of the season as you know. I was hugely relieved to get the win for all the reasons you know, but we did not exactly dog stomp them either.

I know this, I feel much better about UF's prospects, in a much superior conference, than FSU's this coming campaign.

Where we end up record wise is TBD, but I believe the UF trajectory is much better than theirs and by a long shot.

For real, I mean tbf I did read practice reports that Miller has actually looked very good thys far but to say the starting position is in any kind of question at all is silly. Unless AR comes out and just somehow stinks up the joint then sure but we already know.

I agree. I guess they had to come up with something for that #10 spot.

I'd be happy if Miller could push AR somewhat for several reasons though.
