Also home to a lot of BLM property and Yellowstone NP which could have something to do with the funding. Wonder what the funding is if you take Yellowstone and Devil's Tower money out of it.

and a perfect example of party over country. I always thought of Wyomingians as independent minded folks who admired those who had the courage to hold fast to principles. I don’t agree with most of her views, but I’d vote for her in a heartbeat because I’d trust her to always defend democracy and do the right thing. That’s more important to me personally than policies.

How do you feel about it?
Wyoming voters tell CNN 'hell no,' 'absolutely not' when asked if they will support Liz Cheney | Fox News

The Feds still come out good because they have tax free mineral rights money coming back to DC from Wyoming.

The feds pour in money irt land and personnel, and reap it back in tax free mineral rights.

Some estimates have it breaking even.

A lot of that money comes in to run/staff the national park service and serve Native American communities . (Example: Wyoming became the first state to institute Fed money for emergency rental assistance for Native Americans.)

It's the America First Republican Party. I think the party name needs to be changed to reflect this.

I also think the democratic party should be renamed. I like the Democratic Socialist Communist Party of the Globalist Great Reset. All Hail China! The new leader of the world.

This goes way beyond Trump. DeSantis is becoming the new flavor of the day, and he could turn out to be a more divisive president than Trump. My new name for the GOP would be the MAD party which stands for morons against democracy.

Medicine Bow peak including in your picture Lake Marie is quite nice. Ironically it’s easily accessible by road - just relatively far from large population centers. To me it’s an oasis in what is largely an ugly 3/4ths of the state with the NW quadrant being absolutely spectacular.

one of my fav times hiking was when 2 neighbor fams were backpack camping from a trail that left from W. Lake Marie. They were staying 2 nights between 2 beautiful lakes & I used my wife's old breastfeeding backpack to take them a cold 12 pack.

It really does. She's been a pretty straightforward conservative in Congress. She actually voted with Trump more than Elise Stefanik, who congressional Republicans selected for GOP conference chair after they removed Cheney.
But to the Republicans in Congress and apparently to the Republican in Wyoming, she made one fatal mistake. She didn't support Trump's attempt to overturn the election. She was loyal the United States, but not to Trump.
    And they can't have that.

If they vote Cheney out of office, they're definitely not great Americans. As someone pointed out, she's one of the most conservative members in the House. Voting her out, then, is because she is a good American with precisely the qualities conservative used to value: the courage to do the right thing. Country over party always!

I find it outrageous some Republicans think she is unworthy of being reelected.

This is one of the reasons why I continue to say that certain posters on this board who call themselves conservatives are far from it. Tilly, feel free to blast me.

What I find absolutely mind numbing is there are some R folks on this forum who are cheering this and don't realize how devastating this outcome is for the future of the Republican party. Get your head out of Trump's a** and use your brain for once.

The best thing about Trump was that he had no interest in the actual job of being President. A fascist who is actually capable of governing is a much bigger threat.

I guess in some states you have to actively change your party registration first before you can vote in the other party’s primary. Ohio makes it easy with open primaries. You just walk in and tell them which party’s ballot you want and they hand it to you. Doesn’t matter how you voted last time or how you’re registered.

The only thing is that whichever party ballot you take in a presidential year, they automatically register you as that party until sometime in the future when you take a different party ballot in a presidential year.
