    Thanks man. Thing about it all is in considering how bad our food situation and the American diet truly is. Americans consume something like 6x-10x more sugar than even recommended and more than any other country. Then add the completely unnecessary intake of refined carbs and yeah, it's easy to see the problem. Stopping such intake alone will provide people with a whole host of benefits for people.

    I agree completely agree about Monsanto and their extensive reach.I'm reminded of this...
    (If you read up about Patrick Moore, he was a leading figure in Green Peace in his younger days, then went on to become a lobbyist for Monsanto).

    Thanks man. FWIW, I wasn't looking for praise, just that I've had a bit of a reeducation about health & fitness. I worked in the fitness industry in some capacity for nearly a decade--basically throughout my 20s--and so much I was taught about food was faiap wrong. Still, that experience has helped me tremendously now because I basically went back to the good habits I had deveoloped when I was younger.

    Excellent! Sounds exciting. Patients would really benefit too!

    Don't know much about dentistry, but I know they're finding ever more connections between teeth health and overall health. So yeah, that conntection to heart disease, and speaking of bacteria, the likely connection to messed up microbiome and to autoimmune disorders is beginning to come into focus.

    Eyes too. The old saying about eyes being your window are true. Routine eye exams can actually shine light on illness in other parts of the body.

    I had a serious eye injury 18 years ago.
    It took an emergency surgery to save my eye. Its fine now and I just have the normal middle age near sightedness these days.

    But that experience set me on a study journey about eye care. Pretty fascinating stuff.

    I like where this thread is going. It helps humanize us all.

    My personal health journey started about 15 years ago. I come from a family where nutrition wasnt a priority and health problems were everywhere.

    I was the lucky one I guess in that I never really battled weight or health issues. I did however start to see how diet was impacting quality of life though. We had just had our 2nd of 3 kids and I was a contractor at the time. My wife who has always been the health nut started educating me on certain things... And while I have no intention of ever being as strict as her (no red meat, no pork for her... Ever), i did start consciously following her diet 80% (ish) of the time.

    Then 4 years ago, Hurricane Florence hit here, and though we get the smack from a lot of storms, this one forced my parents to live with us for a month. Being back under a roof with them every day made me realize that in their late 60's they seemed have the health of people even older. Like noticable fatigue and low energy etc.

    That was a wake up call.

    That was when I started hitting the gym religiously, and recommitted to better diet.

    I just turned 50 and am in the best shape of my life. I have to be. My 11 year olds cross over is brutal.;)

    I say that to say it doesnt take much or long to change your life and even people who appear healthy may not be from a nutritional standpoint. That was me.

    50 is the new 30 and I dont want to feel 70.
