There are three or four interesting games around the country every week. They can schedule much better than that. We have three or four games a year that are interesting. That affects TV contracts also

What’s the point? I would not attend that game if they gave me free tickets with my parents do but I still don’t want them unless I live in Gainesville

My parents have season tickets and live in Vero beach. They don’t even attend it two or three games a year because they are garbage

They add plenty of tv money. Clemson Bama would be the biggest tv draw of the week almost any week. Schedule those types of games instead of cupcakes and the espn contract would go way up.

I know a lot of people feel like you do. I kind of enjoy those breaks in the season, primarily because we get to see a lot of the young guys/backups get some snaps and we get to see what they look like. Just a relaxed day, can enjoy the other big games, tailgate, hang out.

But it’s doesn’t bring in the cash. If we need more money to support our program, make 12 exciting matchi and there’s the cash you need

TV contracts are about filling aggregate air time Th-Sat. 90+ teams are broadcast each weekend. The big matchups are great for us die-hards, but many fans only watch their teams and possibly stretch to their conference brethren here and there. The sheer volume of games is the money-maker, rather that the individual rating of Bammer playing Ohio State on a given week.

I get what you are saying, as there are many garbage matchups every season, but most on this board aren't representative of the majority of viewers ESPN captures at some point over a weekend.

The flip side is that in many cases (UF a perfect example), without those matchups with the weaker teams all fans are going to have to adopt an NFL mindset that 7-5, 8-4 are excellent years and 6-6 is a good outing. Not sure the typical fan psyche is ready for that. Might just diminish interest rather than drive more.

Pretty sure UF admin (and all others) are fine with guaranteeing that their product has a pretty clear path to seven victories before they play a down. Need the Vandys, Miss States, USFs, and Colorado States on the schedules to get there.

For me the free seven wins me nothing and I’m not interested.

Here’s the point: I’d much rather watch two good teams play each other after they’ve gotten the bugs worked out. Too many times a great matchup is spoiled by one team stumbling out of the gate in game 1 — and too many times our team has been plenty rusty in their first game

We seem to be moving towards two conferences. Maybe we should call them NCAA North and NCAA South. I guess the next step would be no conferences.

Got a feeling recruits are going to hold off on committing for a while till all this conference reshuffling ends. Also a lot of decommits later.

It's not adding additional tv money. It is adding above what the average draw each team in the SEC receives from the tv contract. Miami. FSU. UCF and USF are all a smaller market than UF and most of the SEC.

This kid has visited Gainesville 200 times and then decides to go to Oklahoma? To hell with NIL.
