I don’t see them letting that happen moving forward especially with 2 mega conferences

Maybe Napier should give Beal a call.

Which is why any kid should think twice before committing to an ACC or PAC school.

USC and ucla are moving in 24’. Texas and Oklahoma 25’… maybe even sooner. No pun intended. I can’t see Clemson, Miami, fsu, waiting to see what happens. They’re going to get while the getting is good

Playoffs are playoffs. I guess they could pay the refs to make it otherwise

For the dance or the candy bar? Is there anything else in Charleston?

It will get interesting as the ACC schools are tied to the conference (with their entire Media rights) until 2036 (or something close to that).....we may end up seeing institutions going to court with the ACC to see if that is actually enforceable.

I just mean as far as the 2 mega conferences. Moving to a format like the nfl with an afc and nfc playoffs with the winner of each playing for the championship

You’re telling me nobody wants Clemson? Or Miami with all of the money they’re throwing around?

That’s what I see in the fut. 32-48 teams and getting rid of the pretenders and filler on the schedule.

No need for anyone to jump from the ACC or booted from SEC or Big10. All that's going to do result in massive litigation and the reality is ESPN is looking for more game inventory, not less.

Easiest path is to have SEC/Big/ACC continue as entities. Each conference will get their champ in the CFP and then they'll restructure to 3,5,or 9 at large bids all from the Power 3. ESPN gets the whole thing, 10-12 programs will dominate the CFP, everyone makes more money, and the traditional conference parasites continue their gravy train.

I thought fox had the B1G? And how can you even try to squeeze anyone from the big 12 or acc in the playoffs after these new conferences form?

    What new conferences are forming?

ESPN has secondary rights to Big right now. IIRC the entire Big contract comes up again fairly soon. If ESPN makes a play for them they'd hold the rights to the only 3 viable conferences that matter and hold the last 32 national champs (at worst they have all three under broadcast their umbrella).

Big12 and Pac12 remnants are on the outside looking in.

I’m for getting to 32 teams so we have great games to watch.
