It always feels a little weird when a team comes out of nowhere to win the title, but you sure as hell can't say that Ole Miss didn't earn it on the field.
Gotta love these kids will have this memory to cherish for the rest of their lives. Screw professional sports!!!
Not belaboring the point. Merely adding the background stat, Johnson last pitched on Monday when he closed out Arkansas in the 9th. Bianco did use DeLucia on Thursday after 4 days (Sun-Wed). 4 days is very tight for college but normal for pros. Sproat pitched on 4 days against USCe in the SECT opener.
Thank you and you're very welcome brother Shane! In the meantime don't forget Le Tour is coming up! Official website of Tour de France 2022
Sure he is, and one agree story with them being one of the very last teams in the tournament. Just goes to show that with the right mindset, prep, and Coaching decisions anything can happen.
Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't Ole Miss now face Tennessee in the finals? We were assured by at least one poster here that the Vols were going all the way and nobody could stop them. I'm only assuming because I haven't seen Tennessee play a game yet at the CWS so I figure the NCAA was letting them sit it out until they could jump back in for the finals and claim their Natty when the time was right. I mean they practically set them up with a dream draw in the tourney being the number 1 seed since Ga Southern was going to travel to Knoxville for the Supers. The Vols were looking at a pot of gold with Leprechauns at the end of the rainbow to make sure they could play in Omaha. Coach Vitello did such an amazing job being so patient teaching his kids how to respect the game and that everything they hoped for would prove they are in fact the best college baseball team of all time. At least that's what we were led to believe. It makes me wonder maybe there's a missing Link here that I'm off. For the record I'm still pulling for the Underdog and not Smokey who won far more games this year than everyone else since they are assured at winning it all and they have the Luck of the Irish on their side.
Ole Miss joins the following teams in winning a championship in their first EDIT: *and only* time in the finals: Holy Cross (1952) Pepperdine (1992) Rice (2003) FSU (2008) Coastal Carolina (2016) Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Not sure where you were going with this other than the fun 2008 FSU team. 1947 Cal obviously qualifies. 1948 So Cal 1949 Texas 1951 OU 1953 Michigan 1956 Minnesota 1959 Okie St 1965 Ariz St 1979 Cal St Fullerton 1987 Stanford 1990 UGA 1991 LSU 2006 Oregon St 2014 Vandy Plus the ones you named. Might have screwed up one or two of those but it is close anyway.
