    Meet the coach who left the Yankees for his alma mater and helped spark a deep MCWS run

    Noticed the Yankees first base coach last year was a volunteer assistant coach at Oklahoma currently. Wonder if we need some funding for a volunteer assistant coach like this? Players on the pitching staff don’t seem happy the way coaches are interacting with them or the way they are handled/developed. Pitcher Mental aspect of the game needs help. What has happened to pitching since the great stable of arms departed for MLB? Doc we lose a pitching coach? Seems odd to go from great to below average, especially with great recruiting success

    Hearing we might pick up another player from Coastal. If so BT is working hard to bring them in and I think increases his likelihood of returning.

    I just read in a Gator Wire article that said 2023 recruit Cade Kurland is entering UF a year early. He was described as a major influence prospect.

    Is it true that Progue transferred to Ole Miss?

    Curious where he gets drafted. Given he has transfered, I would assume he has plans to actually go but who knows how the draft turns out.

    UF will possibly play @ Ole Miss next year. Played there in 2019 the last time.

    I am more curious as to why he is transferring. He is basically our Saturday guy as of right now and he is choosing to move to a school in the same conference that is further away from his home.

    I don’t get this one, or like it very much.

    Mac I get IF BT stays. If we lose BT and Mac, we’re gonna be in trouble behind the plate.

    I felt the same way until a conversation this morning.

    Neely, Coppola, Cags, and Nesbitt are all back/healthy (theoretically) next year. Pogue is ahead of all but Neely; however, he isn’t exactly guaranteed a spot. If Sully adds a transfer, it gets even tighter.

    Now that doesn’t mean it isn’t odd or worse.

    He would have played a lot next year. Even if he got bumped out of the weekend rotation, he’d probably be at least one of the weekend starters, and be a dude you could lean on for long relief. Maybe he didn’t want to take that chance, and wants to start. Does ole miss have a starting spot for him? I have no idea what their roster looks like.

    That’s the question I have. DeLucia is gone but Elliott is back. He will be the ace. Gaddis? Not sure as I haven’t checked.

    Just checked… DeLucia is a JR. Theoretically could come back. Elliott is a FR. Gaddis is a SR. So probably 2 spots in the rotation that are open.

    Tough to say what the personal "behind the scenes" makeup of our team, but for Pogue this might be more of a productivity verses potential situation. Ole Miss will most obviously not be as good next year as they ended up this year. The Gators might have more potential going into next year but Ole Miss does better getting the production out of their players than we seem to.

    I don’t see him as a Saturday guy. Velo never returned.

    People seem mystified about Ole Miss and Bianco. The guy can coach and recruit. Took best player in Florida this year Roman Anthony.

    Your forgetting JC kids. Lefferts, if he makes it to campus, May very well be ahead of Pogue. What about freshman Clemente?
    What if Sully felt:
    Friday=Neely
    Saturday= Lefferts-Slater-
    Sunday= Finnvold
    That’s not even counting:
    Clemente
    JC kid from Bama
    1-2 portal kids.

    Pogue got better but he’s not a Friday or Saturday SEC guy right now today. How does Finnvold not get a true shot?
    I’ve not even mentioned talented kids like Abner ( huge upside), Nesbitt, or Ursitti ( best arm on the team).
