Like the pick up. Kid seems to have been leaning to Florida for a while. I think a very solid pick up. Still plans to visit Miami.
Yayyy, we bagged us another 3 star lineman! Mullen, eat your heart out! Is Napier’s strategy to recruit 3 stars and hope they become 4 stars?
Kinsler would have been a high pick up for the previous staff. He is a borderline 4 star . Staff is happy with him coming on board.
Would anyone like to f o and research how many online men are 4 * or 5 *. I truly don't know without looking myself.
24/7 shows 0 5* OL and 45 4* 24/7 composite shows 4 5* OL and 53 4* (Knijeah Harris is one) ESPN 300 shows 2 5* OL 33 4* (Knijeah Harris is one) UF has offered: OT 2 5*, 16 4*, 7 3* and 1 NA IOL 1 5*, 7 4* and 1 NA (Knijeah Harris is one)
So there’s basically 50 4 stars or better. There’s 20 real college football teams. So 2 to 3 for each team on the average
CBN could load up on all 2 stars and if he goes 15-0 I assure everyone on this board I will not give 2 (____) about recruiting rankings. Welcome aboard Tommy and thank you for choosing the Gators!
that and remember that they removed the 25 counters so we can sign 40 kids just as long as the roster is a certain number. He’s a take and give em a few years to develop and we’re good to go
OL is hard to grade. Its more height and weight than anything. My youngest son's senior year had him lined up against a Clemson commit for half of the first quarter. Son absolutely stoned him and put him in the dirt a couple times. It was so bad player's parents were texting me during the game. Opposing coach lined him up against a different player and he looked like a Clemson commit. After that game, son never saw a good DL lined up across from him again. Coached a couple kids who wound up playing college ball who would get dominated in drills, but since they were 6'4" or better the colleges were all over them. Hell, Mack Brown showed up in our locker room one day and wanted to talk about him when he was in 10th grade. He is only 6'1". Never grew another inch after 9th grade despite being on track to be 6'5". Mack stopped coming by......
I looked at the classes of our major rivals- the teams we most compete against for recruits and on the field. I count 9 total OL commits for 7 teams, 6 are four star OL. Three of the 6 four star OL commits are committed to Ohio State, two to georgia, one to Clemson. Several of the below teams have zero OL commits, including bammer, LSU, fsu, and tennessee has 10 commits but only one OL, a 3 star. The take home is that the teams we most compete against are way behind on their OL recruiting and will be lucky to finish with full OL classes. We, on the other hand, need two very good prospects to finish with a good class. Schools- Clemson, Ohio State, georgia, tennessee, fsu, LSU, scUM, alabammers. I do not like unranked or nonranked players. Most of the time, they don't get the job done. However, what I really like about our guys is that they are from the great State of Florida and that earns them an extra half star imo. I hope we can finish with what the staff thinks we need and that they bring in some star power. I would of course like to see a true 6'6 quick footed, long armed OT type. Do we have that on our board?
