That was when he was only a sophomore. So, considering that... Napier is the expert on incoming talent.
hey, if the assistant vice director of the under-secretary of 3-star recruits signed off on it, I'm good with it.
I'm guessing top recruits wait longer to see how high the offers get and they won't commit until a deal is somehow finalized. 3 star recruits might not get many if any NIL offers, so they'll commit if they're ready, and if coaches see an underrated recruit you take him "for free or cheap" in case he shoots up the rankings later. As in most things, kind of like the draft, top 5 value/contracts are very different than late 1st round, which is very different than 3rd round, which is very different than late rounds and UFAs. *How much will recruitniks charge players to boost their rankings now..?
What makes you think he is getting processed out? Why would the coaches accept his commitment and a month later process him out. Wouldn't't that look bad to other recruits? When he committed, Napier seemed happy with it from the twitter posts I saw.
Maybe he is getting noticed more and wants to look around. Maybe he wants to see if there are better NIL deals. Who knows with 18 year olds.
One month ago: Tyree Patterson is a diamond in the rough, he's much better than his star rating and he's going to blow up at the camps. Anyone suggesting otherwise is dumb and bad. Today: He's going to be processed out. No biggie.
His uncle can drive 2 hours and 15 minutes and watch him play at UF. It takes an hour to get from one side of town to the other in Orlando, so, it shouldn't be a big imposition to him.
I think we would offer PWO before processing out. He’s raw and has been productive in his limited football experience, but doesn’t scream off the charts talent. His biggest asset may be the chip on his shoulder.
The only reason I could imagine him being processed out is because we are comfortable we are getting players higher on our board that we weren’t comfortable with a month ago. Doesn’t mean we wouldn’t still like him the same and think he has a bright future, just that we have to draw a line somewhere. I don’t have any knowledge that this is what is happening, maybe he just want to take a look at UCF. For a lower ranked player I would see that as a risky move, but who knows.
True and also, I mean, why NOT take an official visit in the event it doesn't work out with UF, you'll at least have your parachute ready for a landing spot. I think it's tough to remember that yes he's a "lower ranked" player and he should cherish his offer and commitment and shut it down but unless you got the juice like that and not have to worry about being processed out, never get too comfortable
