His 2.25 assist to turnover ratio is eye opening. Hope it continues with better competition. Welcome to the Gators Kyle Lofton!

38 minutes per game over 4 years. He never came off the court!
Having a PG hitting 82% FTs will help late in some games.

A career 30-percent three-point shooter and under 30 percent the last two seasons on surprisingly decent volume (he took nearly three and a half three-pointers per game last season). Maybe St. Bonaventure just needed him to shoot a fair bit considering its overall roster?

Anyway, certainly seems like a solid addition, and a guy who is on the court constantly while maintaining his effectiveness. That's not a small thing.

The 3pt % isn’t great, but everything else seems pretty rock solid.

3 or 4 attempts per game (38 mpg) I don’t think is super high volume though. It’s about the level to keep defenses honest (and remember a PG may occasionally have to settle if the offense is out of sync).

For perspective Appleby shot about 2x as many 3 attempts per 40 minutes, albeit at a slightly higher make %.

That's huge! Averaged at least 5.5 apg in each of the last 3 years. 5.9 apg and 82% from the ft line last year. Think we're set at pg now.

Great addition for the Gators! His 5.9 assists per game this past season, over 38 games, is an extremely good number, putting Kyle at #9 nationally. CC is probably rubbing his palms and saying, "Oh yeah, dunk city coming up."

Def not a good shooter. But he is elite defensively, has great size, takes care of the ball, and hits his free throws. Maybe not a terrific fit for this offense, but has legit experience, is competitive as heck, and is a perfect complement to Bonham.

The good news: we got a VERY good player.

The bad news: my "40-0" shirts are getting tight. I have to decide to either lose weight between now and next March - by limiting my intake of beer and ice cream - or I need to buy a couple more in my new size.

    Decisions, decisions...

This is a resounding "hell yeah!" from me.

This shows good roster awareness, management, and ability to execute from coach and gives him a PG that will certainly help us win games. We don't need titles this year - we just need to be competitive and show promise to set up the future. So it doesn't bother me in the least if he's not a perfect fit for TGs offense.

So we have a slew of guards, but who are going to rebound and be the "bigs"?

Castleton and Jitoboh at the five, Felder and Fudge at the four, looking for one more

We definitely are going to add a quality big which, hopefully, will give us 5 solid players at the 4 and 5.

It is going to be very interesting to see how Golden deals with having so many quality players. I thought that our former coach had two really good point guards in Nembhard and Glover. He totally botched the use of them. I don’t see Golden repeating that type of mismanagement.

Who starts at PG? Lofton or Bonham? Do we have any scholarships left?

Really hope he's the big that we get. Think he's the missing piece to having a complete roster for the 1st in some years. How that translates remains to be seen but I'd certainly feel optimistic going into next year.

Imo, it's Lofton. 5th year Sr who I can't imagine would sign without being told he's the starter. Plus played against somewhat better competition and in bigger games (including the NCAAt). Bonham will still have 2 years to be the starter after next year. Wouldn't be surprised if they play together at some points next year.

Gators still have 2 scholarships available. One for another big and one being saved for Kugel, which hopefully he'll qualify to receive.

I would expect his shooting percentages to get better since he won’t have to play almost 40 minutes per game here. I’m sure he had some dead legs trying to shoot the ball.
