They populate, equip, train, and lead the armed forces of the United States in accordance with the law and advise the civilian government on the proper deployment and employment of military forces in order to defeat our enemies, such as Russia, on the order of the President.

Genuinely surprised you needed me to tell you that.

Lead and advise, agree. Equip, maybe. Populate, train,.. Doubtful.

And surprised at sarcasm? "Mercy is for the weak".

True. And we don’t train to be merciful here, so we?

I just heard from my friend in Odessa. He says eight missiles hit his city. He says that words cannot describe the level of hatred Ukrainians have for Russia for what they are doing to their country.

Seems like a win win to me. Gets rid of stuff we were probably going to scrap soon. I hope they are shipping stuff on a first in first out inventory system.

Kind of doubtful that he would be back in the fight after losing a leg that soon. It’s a long, painful process of recovery.

Maybe. The battle of Bucha started late February - the 26th or 27th. If he was injured then, it's been over 8 weeks. Depending on the cut, type, etc it's about 4-8 weeks for wound recovery to then put a prosthetic on.

Not saying he's up to fighting one on one but sitting in a vehicle or sniping? Still rough but doable.

Worked for an orthopedic surgeon :) had a guy with above the knee amputation who was cut & doing PT in 4 weeks. In obscene pain but his daughter was getting married and he wanted to walk her down the aisle.

But I agree on some skepticism. Just thought I'd share it's not as impossible as one might think :)
