I had three extra tickets to that game and sold two of them to a lady and her husband that lived in Coral Gables and we had dinner together on South Beach before the game. Nice folks and friends of a friend. I couldn't find friends that wanted to go down to Miami because they all thought we would lose. We sold them at face value. We gave away the third ticket to a Gator fan outside the arena. We vetted him by asking a lot of questions about the team before we gave the ticket away. The last thing we wanted to do was to give the ticket to a scalper. It was almost like the scene in Diner about the Baltimore Colts before we gave the ticket up with no charge.
I assume Golden knows how to manipulate scheduling to get a great NET ranking so hopefully he does that.
Florida will host Stony Brook on November 7th as part of its 2022-23 non-conference schedule. The game will serve as the season opener for both programs and the UF Head Coaching debut for Todd Golden.
