Yeah, the 1-3-1 really changed the complexion of the game. Molinar got whatever he wanted in the first half, but was pretty much shut down in the 2nd. I wonder if we'll use the 1-3-1 as long as Colin is out, or was it a situational call to deal with Molinar?

We did use it a lot in previous years and not so much this year. But we employed it differently today by really extending it with the threat of a trap just over half court near the sideline. That can take the ball out of the hands of the dribbler. That they did such a great job doing it was a surprise given how little time they had to work on it given the CC injury.

I noticed Jones did not shoot any 3s...and maybe MW is willing to let Reeves get more of his minutes

We used it some last year - even a little in the ncaa tourney if I recall correctly - and it usually worked pretty well.

We’ve been dealing with a TV set issue since October. The original set had been acting up and finally bought the farm Christmas Eve. We currently have the third set since then, which finally seems to work, but we haven’t been able to get the tv remote/smart tv synched with the Cox Contour service. Remember buying a tv, plugging it in, maybe screwing the coax from the cable into the “cable in” connection, and you didn’t have to mess with it till it died 8 years later?

Basing it on his overall record I do not think his job is in jeopardy.

Hisense 43". I don't need a bigger one because I mount the TV close to where I sit at the computer. I only have to turn my head a little during games to post scores and comments.

If you get a bigger one and use it as your monitor, you don't even need to do that ;)

I have a 55" tv as my computer monitor, I kind of wish I had gone with a curved screen. Definitely if you go bigger than that you will want the curved screen, it really does make a difference when you are sitting this close to it.

I appreciate the idea but I want to have two different screens for my puter and my TV because I don't want to do any switching.

For those of us who remember, back in the day kids sit close to the TV so they could turn the vertical and horizontal hold knobs when the TV started acting up which was often. Sometimes it took a trip down the the local 7-Eleven to use their tube testing machine and pick up a new tube or two.

i remember those tube testers, lol.

Hisense tvs do not have a good reputation for quality.
If you want a great cheap tv, buy a TCL at Wallyworld.

I think if Florida gets in the tournament, you're probably right, regardless of what some fans may want, based on Reeves development and the incoming recruiting class.

Already committed for next year is 6'9 C Malik Renau, a consensus 5 star and top 25 recruit on just about all of the sites. 6'10 PF Jalen Reed, 4 star top 75 Nationally out of California and 6'4 PG Denzel Aberdeen, 3 or 4 star who really came on the scene last year and is a sniper from deep.

Still, Florida has to get in the tournament first and now that CC is out indefinitely & the Gators are currently 2-3 in the SEC, it's far from a given. This is not me endorsing White, but from the AD's position, looking at what's coming in, its hard to get rid of a coach who gets his team into the dance every year. Should Florida not get in, imo SS has to really think about what's best going forward and a change may be needed.

Overall I agree with you and it's a solid post. We'll just have to continue to agree to disagree on the stability of White's job. I've been wrong before so it wouldn't be the first time if things turned out differently than I project but let's hope we don't have to find out and wind up having a good season.

You certainly know the pulse of the team a lot more than me, so I trust you when you say as of right now White is safe. As a huge sports fan, seen too many times where a coach appears safe, but things go south quickly and outside pressure is put on the AD. If that happens you never know, but as you said, let's hope it doesn't come to that. Let's start with a W tomorrow vs Vandy.

Unless the wheels somehow fall off this season, it's hard not seeing Mike getting another year, especially with the class coming in. He will then get yet another year, because these guys are too young and the biggest developmental growth is between Fr and So years. /s

I'm still hoping for a turnaround for this season, now that Mikey knows what he has talent-wise on the bench. Let's all hope he doesn't forget the deep talent this team has and opens up the bench.

I think it was @akaGatorhoops who pleaded with Mikey on this board to not "shorten the bench" right before we went on a nose-dive starting with Tex So.

Earlier in the season we were playing a lot of guys, with great success, full-court press and attack-style fast-breaks. For some reason, Mikey moved away from that.
@akaGatorhoops or whoever it was should be getting some big kudos right about now...
