Unreal how many open shots we miss. This team should be getting it into the post to NC or slashing 90% of the time. They have no business putting up 3’s. And don’t even get me started on the free throw shooting. I don’t care how good of a defensive team we can be, with this poor of a shooting team we have no chance this year.

Yeah, I think your on to something here.
Damn, can White hold a walk on / frat boy try out for a couple of shooters?

What about that hot shot that came in with Lewis?

    Lee Humphrey, where art thou?

I’m just glad Tre Mann got out when he did. Lewis saw that White wasn’t improving his game and left as well, even though he wasn’t projected to get drafted. I guess he figured that he didn’t have anything to lose by leaving because he wasn’t getting any better with the coaching he was getting.

Def one of the worst shooting teams in memory. I've never seen so many air balls from a Gator squad. They're good kids and showing great effort, but they just can't shoot.

Over the last thirty years our worst overall all FG% teams have been 2019 (42.5%), 2016 (42.5%), and 2022 (42.9%). 2007 was the best at 52.6%

This is our worst 3P% team of the last 30 years, at 31.2%. 2007 was the best at 40.9%.

This year is a little above our 30 average for FT%. 30 year average is 69.9%, this year we are at 71.5%. Mike White's first year was the only year that wasn't above our 30 year average FT %. Our best year was 2021 at 75.3%.

All of these stats are as of the Auburn game.

Agree. Could they not shoot before they arrived at UF? I doubt it.

If my calculations are correct, our FT% dropped more than an entire percentage point after tonights game (70.1).

I believe Jones was like a career 40% 3pt shooter before arriving...

He has terrible shooting form, but its been a pretty drastic fall-off. I'd be curious if it's just a slump or what. It's bizarre.

Without a doubt this kind of performance...at home...is not a good sign for Mike's acumen as a HC. This is the year he got his kind of players, albeit from the transfer portal, and are experienced. Jones needs to sit if for no other reason than to get him to realize he can't keep doing what he is doing. Castleton isn't going to survive to the end of the season if he can't get any real help. Time to go big and see what happens. It can't be any worse.

McKissic was who I thought could be more of a factor shooting the ball. Boy was I wrong.

It’s becoming obvious the blueprint for beating our team is to merely show up.

Abysmal shooting, poor FT shooting, turnovers, poor PG play, inexplicable scoring droughts….it seems every game we have at least three of these, and in many cases (like last night) all five.

It’s frustrating cause they often play with a lot of energy. They just don’t seem to be very good over the course of 40 minutes.

If these are MW's "kind of players", then I think that says it all. I said this in a post last week. As a defensive-minded coach, MW has not been able to bring in the types of players who can light it up from all over the court. His teams have always struggled to score points, and the 3-6 minutes scoring droughts seem to continue no matter what five players are on the court. I think he has done his best. We either need to be ok with it, because it isn't going to change, or we make a change and let him try his style of play somewhere else.

TEK - well you sum it up but I can't help to think that just one good outside shooter could really help this team. Probably be good if that shooter was a decent point guard too.

They are close, they are just missing a couple of cogs to rise to that first tier SEC level.

    It's so frustrating.

Very hard to dispute your post. It just seems that UF's top end under White is win 2 lose 1 or 67% and that's the TOP END.

    Decent? - Yes

    Great - Hardly

Win an SEC Championship? Maybe once every 12 - 15 years given this current pattern.

Big Dance - Final Four once every 25 years maybe??

IMO, I expect this year to be Coach's worst W/L record. SEC is just really tough and we have far too many problems.

Maybe, given this years experience, he can recruit or add transfers that firm up this team for next year but CC is definitely gone so he will be tough to replace.

One of the selling points when we hired him was the fast-paced uptempo offense he runs.
