Perhaps he is, though he is arguably playing too fierce - considering the foul issues.

Also- At Florida last season Omar tallied 29 blocks in 24 games played . . . so more than a block per game.
At Illinois - he has, so far, recorded 7 blocks in 10 games. . . so less than a block per game.

There literally does not seem to be a single measurable that comes remotely close to supporting your contention.

I'm not going to ask you to explain the nuances of fishing to me, but here's a basketball nuance. There is a difference between being ball dominant and taking a lot of shots. Lee Humphrey was not a ball hog, but we all wanted him to shoot the ball when he got it in position to shoot. However, I don't think that any of us would have wanted to see Taurean Green dribbling all over the place like we see from Appleby. As for Omar, he is learning on the fly and doing it well. It's too late for UF for Omar, but it's not too late to try to turn Jitoboh into a player.

You are way to stuck on stats. They are helpful but they often don't tell the whole story. Blocked shots are nice, but the focus on blocking shots often is not helpful. As to fouls, Omar commits too many, but several of them have been offensive fouls called when he has rolled to the basket off of a pick and roll. These are bogus calls in my opinion, but Omar still needs to learn to avoid them. The bottom line to me is that, after 2 wasted years, Omar is learning about how the game of basketball is played. He might never become a very good player, but this is his best chance. So, if I accidentally hook a whale, should I cut the line?

I think you also said “ball hogs”. I’ve played the game enough to understand that connotation.
And your distinction aside... it’s hard for me to reconcile 3 ball-dominant players, yet it’s the 4th player who records the second most field goal attempts.

I thought it started leaving last year...and I'm not trying to be offensive...just didn't think he was able to be consistent in the bigger games.

I’d argue that you are completely and entirely ignoring statistics... at least in this case. And conveniently so.
Curiously, you have sited Glover’s stats many times.

Yes, you should cut the line. You have recognize an un-winnable battle when engaged in one. ;)

He seems to have lost the leg push on his jump shot. He came to Florida with a pure jump shot. He looked like he might be the best player on the Gators early in his freshman year. Then, he got injured. He tailed off. At some point after his freshman year, he went to 2 different kinds of outside shots; the one with a push when he shot off of the dribble and needed to square up, and the one without much of a leg push, which he shot when he was wide open. Although his percentage stayed pretty high, it seemed like you couldn't trust him at crucial times. This season, he seems to be shooting most of the time without much of a leg push. His shooting percentage has been plummeting.

Is this substantiated anywhere? I know we love to throw former players under the bus. But facts are nice too.

That's the Gator offense. The dribble drive guy dribbles all over the place trying to either score or draw a defender and kick it to someone to shoot. The dribble driver has the ball in his hands for way longer than the shooter. We saw it with both Chiozza and Nembhard in their last years at UF (and they are extremely unselfish players), and we have seen it with Mann and Appleby. On top of that, Blackshear and, now, Castleton have held onto the ball way to long when they have gotten the ball in the low post. Udonis, when he was at UF, could shoot the ball ten times in the amount of times that it takes Castleton to shoot; and I love Castleton. The concept of ball movement and player movement does not seem to exist at UF although Mike White talks about it a lot.

So we’re hearing one side of the story. Got it.

I am not partial to the dribble-drive offense, either. But Noah Locke is a shooter... and he took the second most shots on the team a season ago. The most shots were taken by a first-round NBA draft selection.
We can gripe about not liking the offensive system, but we really can’t make much fo a case for Locke not getting shooting opportunities.
Oddly- Locke didn’t girpe about the offense, nor “hated playing in it”, as you suggest. Instead, he wanted to be the focal point of said offense.
This brings us full circle.... He presumably has such role at UL... or, at least closer to it. But his efficiency has fallen off.
He is a good kid and I really hope he does well.

Why do you presume it’s one side of the story, and how do you know whose side it is?

Glover has missed the last 2 games with, apparently, an injury. However, I believe that his stats are very relevant in explaining the surprisingly good start that Samford has had because he has been counted on to be Samford's biggest scorer and playmaker. I also believe that stats are important in evaluating Locke's performance because he is being counted on to score, and I have pointed out that he is not playing well. In the cases of both Payne and Nembhard, I don't believe that their stats are that important because their contributions to their teams are based on other factors. In Nembhard's case, it is to move the ball quickly and make sure that the team plays at a fast and efficient pace. In Payne's case, it's to fill in for Cockburn, set on- and off-ball screens and defend the low post. He is doing a pretty good job in those areas. Payne is not capable of being a productive high-minute post player right now, and he might never be one, but he is playing with an enthusiasm that was not seen at Florida and he is helping the team. Watch him play when you get the chance. Nembhard has been one of the better point guards in the country even though his stats are comparable to what they were at UF. As to your "conveniently so" remark, as my dad used to say, balderdash.

Not surprisingly Florida dropped out of the AP poll top 25. Not only dropped out of the top 25 but didn’t receive any votes in the teams just outside of the top 25.

I see... so unless I reveal who sources may be, the presumption is that it must be one-sided and/or unfair.

Anyway- I fully encourage people to be skeptical of internet “sources”, so I will absolutely not fault you. Though I think I’ve established a pretty solid track record, I have no compulsion to win your favor. Skepticism is good!

But if asking me ... which I believe you were ... if what I posted has been substantiated - my answer is “yes”.
Wether that is meaningful or meaningless to you is ... well, up to you. I honestly take no offense either way.

True he would say white ruined Payne if it was reversed. Comparing a out of shape Jitoboh to Payne is lol. Our big man will be better by end of year.
Payne 2pts 1to in 8 min, he sure is better.
Locke is not as good no matter how you spin it.
How mamy transfers will play on NBA
