I think it's fairly obvious....McDowell moved over to DL where he also doesn't play, and in his 3rd year Symonds appears buried on a depth chart that isn't all that deep. Both guys have been passed by numerous younger players, that typically is a great indicator.

The ones in year 3+ that don’t play this year. May choose the portal to play. Pretty common

Strictly going by the official depth chart for the USF game, if our starting 5 all left after this year our OL next year would be:

    3* Mincey rSO
    4* Harrod rJR
    3* Leonard rSO
    4* Braun JR
    4* Tarquin rFR

That's 3 4*s and 2 3*s and all will have at least 3 years in the system. This year we start 2 4*'s and 3 3*s, so next year we'll be looking at an upgrade in both experience and (star) talent. I agree with the above that if we keep our numbers up and let the kids sort themselves out we're in good shape if Hev can coach 'em up. We'll see how the OL holds up this year, so far so good and looks like we have 7 guys we can count on at a minimum.

This is what I found online about Offensive Tackle U. Please feel free to correct anything I may have gotten wrong.
University of Florida Offensive Line in NFL:

Starters: 3 Star Trent Brown (Patriots), 5 Star DJ Humphries (Cardinals), 3 Star Jawaan Taylor (Jaguars), 3 Star Max Garcia (Cardinals)

Backups: 3 Star Fred Johnson (Bengals), 3 Star Stone Forsythe (Seahawks)

Practice Squad: 5 Star Chaz Green (Steelers) 3 Star Brett Heggie

The only current Pro Bowler is Trent Brown, who returns to the Patriots after two injury-plagued seasons with the Raiders. He’s healthy and looks every bit like the towering menace he was three years ago.

Humphries has found his groove after a rough start to his career in Arizona. He’s started every game he’s ever played, including all 32 in 2019 and 2020.

Taylor has also started all 32 the past two seasons, but he has struggled quite a bit. This is a big year for him as Urban Meyer tries to remake the Jags.

Garcia, the only center in this group, started for a couple of seasons in Denver but has settled into a backup role with the Cardinals.

Forsythe won’t see much playing time barring injuries this season but has the size to eventually develop into a starter. Johnson started six games for the Bengals last season and is once again a swing tackle this year.

Green has been one of the more maligned tackles in football the past five seasons and is strictly an emergency insurance plan for the Steelers.

Lot of retirements this past year with both Pouncey brothers and Gilbert departing. Think Harrison was a late cut in camp. Halapio not playing any longer?

So that horror show in FSU even got the Armella kid thinking about business decisions instead of his pop's school.

Could the UF OL board be flipped upside down?

The board could have movement but i think w/minimum camps over the last year, the staff may wait (this all speculation) and let the senior season play out and evaluate these kids as the season goes on

Personally, I don’t care what the ‘names’ of the kids are or their ‘star’ rankings per se, SO LONG as UF gets to winning championships thanks to our having an OL that mauls people and frees our skill people to do their thing. Now up to this point we haven’t seen that . And it coincides with our NOT having signed the names with the stars. Meanwhile, the playoff teams WERE signing lots of those guys. MAYBE we have reached a point that Hevs long established style of mining the rough diamonds and slllooowwwwlly developing them into polished players is going to pay off . We will see. All I know is we want to see championship wins and strong OL play. Bring it and stay. Fail to, and the time is coming for that Coach to go away. Welcome to Nonar if he picks UF and hope he ‘pans’ out.

Streets saying Ramier Lewis may be an OL that UF could give the greenlight to or, at the very least, has very high interest in. You can get a sense who the Ol is targeting by just looking at Hev’s twitter page and seeing what he’s retweeting and the comments/tweets that he likes under his “likes” section

Nice to hear heated debate this year about why the running game worked after the first couple of games, vice the predominant discussion about why it didn't last year.

i think it's fairly safe to say we have a legit offensive line now. i think if richardson would've played, we would've went for 300+ rushing.
