I'm so sick and tired of all the excuses from the 4x100 men's relay team and coaches - for multiple Olympics now. The U.S. hasn't won gold in that event since 2000!!! That's terrible. The second and 3rd passes were atrocious. I feel for the runners, but the coaches are doing a disservice to this team, for some unknown reason. I mean......WTF?!?!
I mean, getting beat by Jamaica anchored by Bolt and with guys like Blake and Powell, sure, but not even qualifying for the finals? WTF? We missed it by 0.02 seconds. If we had been less arrogant and ran Lyles for anchor we probably would've overcome the bad exchange as well.
Let's face it. American athletes, like the rest of this country following the Greatest Generation, are getting soft. This Olympics are starting to pan that out.
