Not to quibble, coop, but it was not about the building, but stopping a joint session of Congress from performing a Constitutionally mandated obligation. Storming a federal building in Portland is bad. Storming Congress is beyond the pale.
One is trespassing. The other is insurrection and sedition.

    Cheers.

That is a narcissistic reward for Trump. He knows he led those people to do it and he's proud of his ability to manipulate people to commit murder and insurrection.

The cruel irony is the officer who Trumps MAGA terrorists murdered was a Trump supporter himself. The very definition of “eating your own”

I'm sure they will assert he was a martyr for the cause or would have wanted to die for them to succeed. That's the way most terrorists that eat their own justify it.

I was going to say those aren't mutually exclusive options.

Just for the record, it hasn't been confirmed that video does in fact show Officer Sicknick.

If it doesn't, then it's just the right wing mob pulling a different police officer defending the United States Capitol from an invasion during a constitutionally outlined election process into the crowd, and beating him with an American flag.

Perhaps, but one aspect of intelligence is the ability to discern fact from fiction.

We definitely do. Smart people can get bad information, it doesn't diminish their intelligence, just the answers they arrive at.

I just love this post, but it is getting redundant isn't it? We keep repeating the same story over and over for the orange man sympathizers and it just isn't getting through. We move the words around, we delete and rewrite sentences, thinking it's just a little more easily understandable, and then the disappointment comes when they respond. Someone though has to keep up the good fight, I just doubt it'll be me.

    No, it was Antifa.

Antifa is like that boogie man that was in your closet, or under the bed when you were a kid. You can pull him out as an excuse not to go to sleep

Watching one of the earlier videos where Fox was trying to interview folks but they were too crazy. In the background you keep seeing objects being thrown into the police lines. Looks like piece of pipe. Look at all the folks with bats and batons just in one still.
And yes capital police were warned.

I think you mean this. It’s not clear but it’s clearly cops being dragged below the vision line and attacked by mob.

I’ve seen no confirmation this is the deceased officer.

And one aspect of being a good liar is being able to fool intelligent people.

One of my biggest questions is why the capitol police were using clubs and not guns? The whole thing is so crazy.
