@gatorpika Saw this in the other forum. The best weapon in BFV, imo. I run with it 95% of the time.

@ValdostaGatorFan I never played BFV myself. Last shooter was PUBG. Was always hoping to get to use it in earlier WW2 titles, but alas we evil Axis got stuck with the K98 and MP40. I did love my AK 12 with a GL in ARMA though. The 7.62 did damage quickly and it was pretty easy to handle as well as being pretty accurate on single at range. The GL was a bonus where you could just drop them in buildings where you heard shots coming from.

Very nice! Did you get any blue screens OC'ing the RAM? The NVMe drives are freakin' awesome, eh?

This is cool channel. Lots of old guns, including the obscure ones.

If you don't get any blue screens while OC'ing your ram, you're not really pushing the boundaries. Processor on-die termination (procODT) and voltage are the settings to look at when you hit that before you dial things back

Pro-tip: partition your drive and install another instance of windows on that partition and boot into that when OCing your ram. Memory errors can silently corrupt the OS and not show up for months. Booting into another instance of windows that's strictly for testing and can be deleted afterwards will protect your actual instance of windows.

Interesting. I've always thought of the risk vs reward aspect of OC'ing the memory, but overclockers like to push everything!

I'll have to look into the OS corruption part, that's the first time I've heard of it. I wouldn't have though the read-only part would have that type of bearing, unless it was updating system files from memory, or something like that.

It's really as simple as looking at what memory errors cause during normal operation when they go undetected. Now the chance of it happening goes down exponentially with it only happening in small bursts as opposed to undetected over time from a ram stick failing but given how easy it is to avoid, its better to not chance it.

Its not OS corruption, but the errors from my OC were enough to corrupt my steam automatic login as well as do some weird things with my network settings in my test instance. I also had 36 registry errors that were not there when I started testing despite making no changes at all to any files or settings.

But since it was a test instance, I just formatted afterwards and did a fresh OS install.
A good reddit thread about it

Have you ever heard FPS Russia talk normally. I thought his fake Russian accent was pretty dang good.

Now this is a gaming rig!

This KFC gaming console is real after all, and keeps your chicken warm - CNET

It was a fun prank at the time (in case you didn't know, you really can't grill or fry chicken inside a gaming console), but now it appears KFC has clarified that its gaming console is, in fact, real, but that the gimmick is that it keeps precooked KFC chicken warm. There's no grill or deep fryer inside the KFConsole, but it is a real gaming console that boasts an Intel Nuc 9 minicomputer and a swappable GPU slot.

Can definitely confirm the OS corruption part now. My test instance was corrupted when I checked with system file checker. (CMD sfc /scannow) Even went through the precaution of turning off windows updates when testing an unknown timing setup.

Completely symptomless too. I just did the check on a whim because the internet was out last night

It said it repaired it but I still took the precaution of formatting and reinstalling the OS at 2133 base speeds on the RAM.

On the flip side, I caved and bought a 6900XT when I found one at retail. Should be here next week. Will post pictures.
