Same in Wilmington. My business has 200+ people a day. We require 100% mask compliance. No exceptions. I am trying to figure out where this mask rebellion is. Has to just be the rural areas. I know Raleigh and Wilmington seem almost 100% from what I see.

Rural areas, and states like FL, TX, SD, etc that have nimrod governors. Those governors actually use state power to fight against (even overturning) local mask mandates.

The vaccine is really what we are waiting on though right? What else, if anything, will be a catalyst for a return to normal? Once front line workers and the most at risk people are vaccinated, people will begin shifting their behaviors back to normal - restaurants will re-open, concerts and football games will start allowing attendance etc. I consider myself one of those people. I've been waiting on the vaccine. At that point, anybody who is at high risk, has access to the vaccine and is being a stick in the mud about getting taking it is no longer going to stop me from behaving normally.

FTR, I agree. I just don't want to see people concerned about the vax becoming the new antimaskers. They are two separate issues in my book.

I get that. We were all talking about NC. I here people claiming that people aren't wearing masks here, and I am not in an area where that is true.

Drive up to Wallburg sometime. If you observe more than 25% of the people in the CVS Food Lion (only 2 stores on Main Street) in town wearing masks, I will send you $20 to cover the gas for the trip.

Off topic to western NC guys. Any of you guys near Jefferson? Do they get CBS there?
My fear is internet/streaming and I may miss the Tennessee game. :(

Yep, seems like most existing “mask mandates” will be in place for a few months at least (just because the vaccine distribution will take time, it’s not a switch that gets flipped). Provided we achieve “herd immunity” with the vaccine, things hopefully will be fully normal by next summer at the latest. Full concert attendance, full stadiums, full restaurants, full places of worship, etc. I skipped a lot of my normal summer travel this year (some by choice, some by cancellation). Next year I might make up for it. :D

After that the CDC and such will have to keep monitoring, and maybe people will need to vaccinate again next year if it becomes “seasonal”. But unless this thing mutates or there is some crazy % of people that refuse vaccination (undermining herd immunity), we shouldn’t need to do this again. Even if there is a local outbreak or re-emergence of the virus, the existence of the vaccine should give the opportunity to contain it from getting out of control again.

We have about 90% mask compliance here in the SE suburbs of Phoenix. But I'd say only about 2/3 of people wear a mask correctly. Lots of exposed noses and the occasional complete mask as a chin guard. I've seen people walk into Target with a mask only to lower it as soon as they pass the person in the front checking. Why even wear a mask if you aren't going to wear it properly? Makes me wonder if these people also wear underwear down by their knees or ankles.

I'm in Fort Myers now. Lots of folks not wearing masks here. At the 7-11 this morning I was the only one wearing one out of about 8 people in the store.

We have a 100% mask mandate at work but most of the guys don’t wear them outside of work.

I'm in Naples and mask compliance is around 90% +. What part of FM was that?

He's probably responsible for more deaths than anyone ever held at Guantanamo. That sounds like a fitting place for him.
