That the builder went to the trouble to install a security camera inside the house clearly speaks to his attitude towards uninvited guests wondering inside and looking around. Of course, reasonable people already understand this. And no, this alone is not sufficient cause to kill somebody, but reasonable people understand that alone is not what got Arbery killed. It likely had something to do with the flurry of cleanly landed punches to McMichael's face by Arbery. The fact that McMichael was holding a firearm probably didn't help matters, admittedly. If you're McMichael in that situation, you almost have to assume if Arbery gets ahold of that gun, he's going to turn it around on you.

More blatant victim blaming and trolling. So typical that's it's downright predictable at this point.

If you are McMichael, you have zero cause to chase after Arbery while he is on foot, and you are in a truck with a shot gun. The only felony crime the McMichael's knew about was a stolen gun from their truck, to which they had zero suspects. The McMichaels did have proof that Arbery was in the house under construction, but again, that's a misdemeanor, and the owner of the house had reported nothing stolen. Regardless, it's the homeowner's right to press charges, and it looks like Arbery visited on more than one occasion, took a curious peak around, and didn't steal a damn thing.

The McMichaels took the law into their own hands and presumed a black guy who was running after committing a misdemenor that wasn't worth anyone's time must have been guilty of something worse. Only because he was black and he was running. McMichael put himself in the situation, through his own, illegal action of attempting a false citizen's arrest, and as a result of McMichael's illegal actions, Arbery was shot to death.

There is zero reason to blame anyone but McMichael, who had no right to chase down Arbery, no right to confront him, especially while holding a gun, and had zero evidence Arbery ever committed a felony. At worst, Arbery is guilty of misdemeanor trespass, which are charges the homeowner didn't care to pursue. But in McMichaels' eyes, Arbery was jogging while black, which for them, was cause enough to hunt him down and kill him.

More fact shaming and it's been predictable for quite some time. I point out some basic, irrefutable facts about the situation and you guys lose it. Just accept it, Arbery has some personal culpability here. This is the sort of thing that can happen when you choose a life of crime. Does that mean McMichael isn't guilty of murder? Nope, but it's clear this would not have happened if Arbery wasn't breaking into things. Keep those goal posts movin'.

Predictable, as usual. Keep going. If the sun didn't come up in the morning and Arbery had eggs instead of cereal then he wouldn't be there at the exact same time as the McMichaels. I blame the sun and cereal. They are culpable.

    Good lord, man.

With zero evidence against Arbery for the alleged burglaries they claimed, these men hunted him down like an animal and cornered him with guns drawn... but you characterize Arbery as having chosen a life of crime?

That is as bizarre an interpretation of these events as anyone could come up with.

You seriously need to check the mirror and figure out what makes you see the victim as the criminal here. This type of perversion of reality is a huge factor in race relations in this country... along with corrupt members of the "justice system" who protect murderers and other violent criminals like the ones in this case.

The world is not black and white. There are shades of gray. I teach my kids if you go looking for trouble, you will eventually find it. You go messin' with another man's wife, sure it's not illegal, but you might end up being a victim. When you continually put yourself into sketchy situations, eventually, bad things will happen.

I think some of you are going to be very upset in a few months if the McMichaels are acquitted. I'm not predicting this, I'm still slightly leaning towards conviction, but it is rather interesting to watch the GBI and attorney slowly release these videos. I could see a scenario where this turns into a George Zimmerman - Trayvon Martin situation where they say McMichael was justified in pulling the trigger in self-defense. Not well-versed on the various laws in Georgia. But this is basically Zimmerman-Martin with some actual video footage showing Arbery doing the sketchy stuff that Zimmerman claimed Martin was doing prior to the confrontation.

The most shocking thing about this case is that the cops didn't go search Ahmaud's property. I guess lazy trumped corrupt. They may have turned up some reefer....crazed black man on the reefers woulda gotta a lot of jury sympathy. Despite, Louis' posting indicating that he thinks all info is now in, I think there still could be more to come.

p.s. I put not only my life, but my 16 yo daughters life in danger just yesterday as we strolled through a construction site. I go through it about 3 times a week...the workers pay me no mind. Further, it has been vandalized...the HQ trailer was covered with spray painted $$$$$. For 15 years it was a sage covered lot with a lone sorry swayback. I'm sorry to see it go.

Please explain how Arbery's prior record had anything to do with the McMichaels hunting Arbery down and killing him. Arbery's "life of crime" consisted of an arrest in 2013 for bringing a gun to school and a 2018 arrest for shoplifting. On the day Arbery was hunted down and killed, his crime was a misdemenor that would Arbery would have never been arrested for, which is taking a few minutes to look around a house that was under construction.

Arbery's priors had zero to do with the fact he was hunted down and killed. It was more the fact that he was black and jogging in a white neighborhood. Any attempt to victim blame is as racist as what the McMichaels did. It's like saying a drunk driver who hits and kills a jaywalker with a criminal past should be absolved because the pedestrian was jaywalking and has lived a "life of crime!"

A "bizarre interpretation of these events" would be someone starting a thread about it and claiming Arbery was out "jogging".

I'd love to hear what you consider "irrefutable facts."

Also, "life of crime?" Is that one of your "irrefutable facts?"

I'm not sure how you came to the "life of crime" description? And what things was he breaking into?

    The irrefutable facts are:

they claimed they chased him over a series of break ins that never happened according to police.
They pulled weapons on him despite the fact that he had not been accused of anything violent, even if he had done the break ins.
He had been seen in a construction site, but the owner said that nothing had been taken and he had never called the police.
He charged them after being surrounded, and they shot him.

    everything else is BS.

I said way back on page 1 or 2 that charges would eventually be brought because of the politics of it, but that a jury in that county will not convict them because they will claim stand your ground and in him charging them, and it will give one or two sympathetic jurors an excuse to acquit.

Hope they prove me wrong, but seen this movie more than once.

I would also say that everyone needs to be less reflexive, 92 was basically run out of this thread for posting what I just posted above, things aren’t as cut and dry for a conviction as it appears. Even if they should be, these dumb stand your ground laws give folks an excuse to acquit. Fully expecting it here.

I'd rather not hear any more from that particular poster. We've heard enough of his perversions.

No, no, it's actually quite instructive. I disagree with him on virtually everything, but he's entitled to his POV, and I appreciate the effort he makes to explain it. I make funny faces when I read it but still...

So it’s OK for McMichael to assume Aubry would use the gun on him, but not OK for Aubrey to assume McMichael would use the gun on him? That makes no sense.

If checking out a home under construction is a capital crime subject to summary execution I would be dead at least 7 times over. Fortunately for a civil society it is murder.

    From CNN no less:

The Brunswick News has reported Arbery was indicted for allegedly bringing a gun to a 2013 high school basketball game when he was 19. Family attorney Lee Merritt has acknowledged Arbery's 2018 arrest on shoplifting charges.

Ahmaud Arbery: Suspect in killing was involved in prior investigation of 25-year-old - CNN

Regarding breaking in, I'm fairly certain the builder who installed the security camera inside that house would tell you that Arbery broke in. I suppose it's always possible the builder installed the camera inside the house for shits and giggles, but my money is on that he didn't want any intruders inside the house while it was left unattended.
