I join you. Lifelong republican, career military, gun owner. I would vote for my dog’s left testicle before I would vote for trump.

Coronavirus Live Updates: Rising Shortage of Dialysis Units Alarms Doctors

Evidence is mounting that in addition to respiratory complications, the coronavirus is also shutting down some patients’ kidneys, posing yet another series of life-and-death calculations for doctors, who were already dealing with a shortage of ventilators.

It is not yet known whether the kidneys are a major target of the virus, or whether they’re just one of many organs that can fail as the virus overwhelms the body.

Kidney specialists now estimate that 20 percent to 40 percent of patients in intensive care suffered kidney failure and needed emergency dialysis. Outside of New York, the growing demand for kidney treatments is becoming a major burden on hospitals in emerging hot spots like Boston, Chicago, New Orleans and Detroit.

It is great that they finally had time to complete some early studies on this. This should give more credence to promoting outdoor activities including golf and tennis. Perhaps even opening some beaches with proper controls.

Regardless, it does support what many have hypothesized all along about this corona virus not being that different than others in terms of physical sturdiness, especially in the face of mother nature, ie sunlight.

Open some outdoor restaurants! I stopped at the BBQ dive on exit 3 Kingsland GA on way back to NC from Gainesville (son graduating and moving out). I ate out front. I might be dead by Monday.

Yeah I would say Trump has hit a new low here by actively encouraging his base to 'liberate' their states during a national emergency. In fact, I would say this is a new low by a large margin. He needs to be removed from office.

Very clear from day 1 his decision was to pass the buck and blame to the states for the consequences of a pandemic.

I have a lot of respect for you and other conservatives who have rejected Trump, and I agree there are a decent amount of you.

That said, with regards to this board, I wouldn't say there are a lot fringe lefties here. More moderates here. But there are a lot of fringe lefties out there. I really feel there need to be 3 parties. Trumpers on the right, Bernie progressives on the left, and the center. I'd be in the center party on the left side of it.

Now that looks like a BBQ joint I can get with. "What'll ya have?"

Me: baby backs and corn bread. :)

Did not mean to exclude other outdoor activity. I would agree with this actually. Especially on hot, sunny days I would eat out. Some fantastic BBQ a bit off the beaten path in Georgia.
