To feed the tin foil hat crowd: if China did unleash this on purpose (all their losses were collateral damage, work with me here) they took us down without firing a shot.....I'm going to go make some popcorn now.....

It's equally likely that we attacked them, and it backfired. Or that that it escaped a laboratory.

Most likely the obvious explanation though, that it has to do with their wet markets. Apparantly there are many viruses that are novel to humans, and lots of different ones just in bats. Some scientist has apparantly identified a dozen different SARS-viruses similar this one. That's a scary thought, that there are even more of these possible.

Looks like Italy is tapering off. Great news for us in 10-14 days. Although the last infected states will be another couple weeks after that. Two months and this could all be settling down. Nice to have something to look forward to.

    Agreed. Promising.

It looks like a potentially decreasing sine wave of new cases appearing, as I had hoped:

At a minimum, 4 days of halted exponential growth is a good thing.

Well we just crossed 500k cases worldwide, over probably a hundred countries, all from a single cell that mutated.
It’s both scary and amazing when you think about it.

If you want to see something that will lift your spirits look up the #clapforourcarers on twitter - all over the UK people have been cheering for our NHS staff. We went out and my quiet street was really noisy. We are very lucky.
    It was super humbling.

After watching the Neflix documentary, Pandemic, I was often thinking that if something like this every came along, India would be DOOMED. I cannot imagine being a citizen there or anywhere in Africa right now.

With obesity and diabetes epidemic, Mexico braces for coronavirus

The World Health Organization has said people with diabetes and its related health complications are among those most vulnerable to severe cases of the highly contagious and sometimes deadly illness caused by the new coronavirus, along with the elderly.

Mexico has the fewest retirement-age citizens among nations belonging to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). But it has the highest rate of obesity after the United States, and related illnesses such as Type 2 diabetes are widespread.

This guy is just burying his head in the sand

Brazil's governors press Bolsonaro for more coronavirus support

Maybe why Trump is pushing Easter so hard, his religious advisers are in his ear.

Just learned that furlough is also the Dutch noun for 'verlof' or permission.
Do you grant them permission to send you on your way with no pay?
    That's no Dutch treat.
