Yep we both rounded are about 2 per million people now (theirs a little better). I think Canada is only like 1 per million now. They built up to that 2 per million number by just constantly dead cat bouncing since they jumped on it like crazy early.

For those following along at home:
Yes, if we divide by big numbers to make things look smaller, then round things off, the US is right there with South Korea (2.73 vs 2.52). But that 0.2 difference in deaths per million is in their favor, not ours, and we are headed up and they are not. South Korea added 9 deaths to their total yesterday. The population adjusted equivalent for the US would be 54 new deaths. Yesterday 225 Americans died from the virus. We are already past them, and picking up speed. It is a false statement to say that they are faring better than us.

Seriously, what do you think the phrase "dead cat bounce" means? You are just constantly using it in completely nonsensical ways.

Yeah, when you've got not a damn clue as to how many actual cases there are you can't keep projecting these idiotic, completely inaccurate, mortality rates.

My guess is in a country with good ICU capacity and medical it couldn't be higher than about .2% since when they tested a bunch they were getting like a .7% rate for a while and that doesn't include all the positives that would just stay home because their symptoms aren't bad.

What I don't understand is the number of 'recoveries' reported.
How is it we have 64,675 cases and only 393 recoveries
when an Italy has 74,386 cases and 9362 recoveries?

And like China, the Russians are also clearly lying.
How is it they have only 658 cases with 2 deaths?
Putin just announced his economy was suffering.
You wouldn't know it by those numbers.

In order to be considered recovered you have to have two negative tests, not just feel better.

The reports are based on tested confirmations of illness and recovery. Not everyone gets both.

Also, the disease course is two to three weeks.

The Russains are lying. The Chinese are lying.

    What's new.

    Mini Trump-

In a widely criticized national address on Tuesday, he played down the threat of the virus, assuring Brazilians that “90% of us will have no symptoms if contaminated” and his “history as an athlete” meant he personally would suffer at most “a little flu.”

Based on that historical fact you would think the Italians knew better.

Estimating clinical severity of COVID-19 from the transmission dynamics in Wuhan, China

After gathering more data and analyzing it more carefully, we have a death rate of 1.4% down from the earlier 4.5% estimate.

Yeah we all figured it would be around that. They've been saying it's probably closer to 1% from the get go. 1.4% is still 14x that of the seasonal flu and pretty scary.
