This guy was secretly telling his wealthy buddies how bad corona might be, while hiding it from the American people. Borders on treason to not do your job to prepare our country for this situation.

If you get sick with COVID (which I hope you don't), tell your doc you don't want this drug because it's not yet approved. I mean, c'mon.

One thing is to consider is using these meds on less sick also, sometimes if you wait too long meds will not work because the patient is already to far gone.

Simple antibiotics to prevent a mild infection getting worse don't do anything if somebody is already septic. That's what's happening with the people who are dying here, they develop Pneumonia, it starts a chain reaction cytokine storm that then causes ARDS/Sepsis and total body system failure.

They can fix that easy, they already have gotten the insurance companies to pay for the COVID testing.

We should do the antibody testing and see who potentially has already had it and healed. Those people could potentially be able to work etc.

You don't suppose there's any difference besides semantics in saying a drug "shows potential" and "it has been approved"?

There's nothing wrong with saying that we're working on some promising potential treatments. But that's a world apart from saying that there's an approved treatment ready to go. It's disinformation, plain and simple.

I did not say 3 million tests will be done. I was saying that Bayer isn't donating for 3 million tests. They are donating for expecting distribution.

I'm happy to report that Sicilians are listening to the warnings and not going out. There has been two confirmed cases in their village but no deaths yet.

Perhaps, but I am saying is maybe Bayer knows something that we dont and the 3M donations indicates they expect wider spread use.

When I say semantics I mean, that perhaps the POTUS is saying something that is about to happen, but is not literally true yet, or you guys may be absolutely correct and he is lying out of his butt.

Perhaps I should have just said: "Lets wait and see. Bayer seems to think something big is coming."

Sure, if he just accidentally jumped the gun and approval actually was coming down the pipe, it would be a honest slip up.

But based on the subsequent comments of the FDA and Bayer, it doesn't look like that is the case . . .

There is a lot of truth here. Every so often I can sense it in myself and on those occasions I turn off TH and the TV and stream movies, go for a hike or bike or knock out some honey-do chores till the feelings pass - usually a day or two. Once I'm back to normal I come back here to become disturbed again.

This is an old drug. We already know how to use it safely. What the testing will show is whether it will help and what the best dosages are.

Agree. I imagine Bayer has some idea it would be helpful, otherwise why make such a public announcement for something that could fail. That would be bad PR.

My GUESS is that they are trying to get their name out in front of something that they believe will be helpful.

A major corporation attaching their name to something hopeful is risky.

We relaxed the rules for some HIV drugs back in the day. Allowing testing in the field without controls. HIV at the time was fatal so it wasnt a bad decision. Getting this to infected elderly may not be a bad decision, but this is above my paygrade.

Bayer bought Monsanto. It's weird when you are so unpopular as a company that the company that made the gas used in the holocaust buys you because they are more popular.

The same day that Trump was telling the American people that the virus would disappear 'like a miracle,' the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee was warning a private group about how bad it could get.

That's a good point. Monsanto is the devil.
